will this camera bag work on all rides?

so I want to take pictures of everything!

I saw one post about a small fanny pack kind of bag but what about the ones that I can fit around my shoulder and neck?

Would that work?

Nope, that would be considered a loose article. Only fanny packs that fasten around your waist are permitted on rides. Even those aren't perfect. My mom lost her fanny pack on Wicked Twister a couple of years ago because the buckle broke.

Your best bet is to go through the park taking pictures, then return to your car, put the camera away and go back in to ride.

Kinda sucky, but better than losing your camera on a ride.

I have a small pocket size camera. Last year I bought leather cigarette case at the leather shop in Frontier Trail. It has a leather loop that fits on my belt and it's just big enough for my camera plus it has a couple compatments for extra memory cards and battery. It costs under $10. It works great for me. I didn't realize it was a cigarette case when I was first looking at it.

So, I recommend that for a small camera. For a bigger camera a fanny pack should do fine. Just don't wear it too tight as the buckle could break from the strain. I wear one all the time at CP and did have a buckle break once, but fortunately I wasn't on a ride.

alright so a fanny pack will work on the rides? perfect ive got one of those to!

thanks!

A fanny pack works great. I have carried my sony camcorder in one for 8 years and never had a problem. It has been on every ride at Cp and KI, coasters and flats. It's great to be able to take pictures while in line. Great shots and video from the line in TTD, MILLY, Raptor, and I love my video of MILLY from the Pirate Island during the day last Hallowweekend.

I did replace it last year at Cp with one bought at FT Train Station gift shop, they call it coaster gear. The wife also bought a larger bag that has a handle and a strap, she takes it on all rides and no one ever says anything to us. She puts the strap over the head and under the arm, when she is on a ride it just stays there at her side even when she has her hands up.

Most of the larger gift shops have the coaster gear. I know the first shop on the right when you come in the main gate has them along with the Pagoda shop.

thanks so much!

One word of advice though. I use a fanny pack also, and just be careful where you position it depending on what ride you're on. Different coasters have different restraints and your camera could get smashed or damaged depending on where it's positioned on your body.

Out of curiosity, how did you get on the island during the day?

Unless he was an employee, it probably wasn't legally. I had many occasions where I would go out to the island to fill up our water jugs and had to escort out picture taking enthusiasts who decided the gates and chains that were meant to keep people out didn't apply to them. Crew members in Camp Snoopy also ended up placing several calls a weekend to security after seeing people wandering around out there.

It was Columbus Day weekend and there were no ropes, chains, nothing to stop anybody. There were people coming and going from the island and we just followed along behind others. Our group was out there at least an hour taking pictures of everything, and we never saw any security, and no one came along or said anything. Just loved watching Milly run out there.
