O K My spelling is not all that good
If I were you, I would not bring it at all. Some things turn up missing every year. But only if you are living in an apartment, where up to 7 other people can live with you. Such as Bayside or Commons. The dorms (Cedars) usually have 2-3 people per room. So chances are that you can bring it with you and not have it stolen. Just get a room in Cedars, make good freinds with your roommates, and nothing should happen.

If it is expensive and important to you, I wouldn't recommend bringing it, no matter if you live on point or off. Not to say that most people can't be trusted, but I hear stories every year of people "losing" things...better safe then sorry if you don't want to have to buy a new system...
I would take caution if bringing a system. I personally didn't bring my system up last summer, but if you trust your roomates it's ok. There will be some interesting people living in the dorms and It's a good idea to be carefull. I rarely spent any time in my room so I didn't really need a system. I would just be careful if taking anything of great value.
Just wanted to make a comment about the number of people MCHS2 said you may be living with. It is true, you may have as many as 7 or 8 people living with you in Bayside, but be prepared for 12 to 16 roomates in Commons. Not that I want to scare you... they are big apartments with several bedrooms and two bathrooms, but wouldn't want you to show up and be surpised that there were so many people.
I lived in Bayside end of last year and brought my PC there, and I didn't have any problems with it. I'll be doing the same this year, as I need my PC to survive, my boyfriend will be up here in Boston and I'll be in Ohio and I'll probably only talk to him on AIM. I'd say as long as you make friends with your roommates and keep your door locked at all times (Commons apartments are 3 per bedroom so they're pretty safe) you should not have a problem, especially if it's a big system that would be a pain to get out. I know I have a ton of expensive stuff in my dorm room here and this is Boston, an actual big city, and my stuff is fine. I dunno, maybe I have that "It won't happen to me" attitude they always talk about but it isn't likely. By sheer negligence I lost a TV last year. It was my own fault though so I'm okay with it. Anyway, I'm off track, I'd take a chance if it's something you feel like you can't live without, but that's just me, do what your gut feeling tells ya...

Hey, while we're on the topic of dorms, do they get free cable? Just asking so I can keep up with my Comedy Central. :)

I may working here this summer, but I still think "Altitude with Attitude" beats anything that "Rules the sky".
I know they have cable in some of the off point housing if not all of it. As for if you get comedy central i wouldnt know. Im going to say no because i think thats expanded basic cable. On point housing has no cable.
Nope, no Comedy Central. I don't like it either! But we get what we can get!

Ummm.... I got Comedy Central when I lived in both 1500 and Commons apartments. We used to have South Park night in Bayside too. Yes, there IS Comedy Central on the basic Sandusky cable (although, not much else!)
My bad Carrie! I get cable here at school and sandusky mixed up all the time!

For $16.80 a week don't expect to be living in the Holiday Inn. Is the dorm safe? The answer is I don't think so becasue it's not easy to trust people now days. It's just a place to sleep and take showers. Kinda like camping.
