So since we all know the Bon Air section of Hotel Breakers will be getting a renovation (finally!), I was wondering if it will be the new hot spot to stay in the Hotel?
First of all, let's hope they add an elevator and give the rooms new wallpaper, carpets, etc. Just gut the rooms.
The problem with the rooms will be though that they are small and don't have much of a view.
What do you all think? Will it be better than the Tower Section and East since it's the newest?
I thought they delayed renovation for a year do to budget or something but I really hope they do. The rooms are so ugly. I really think a lot of the rooms at the Breakers & Breakers express need renovation.

I know it would be super expensive, but I wouldn't mind if Cedar Point completely made a new hotel/resort. I never hear good reviews of Breakers, etc... Most guest leave feeling ripped off. You have a beach and you have the lake. It could be a beautiful place to stay and a major destination, but its crap. Even when Sandcastle got renovated people still weren't impressed.
You have the perfect place to make a great resort why not take advantage.
Let's Get Weird.
How would building a new place make it better? Most of the existing properties aren't that old to begin with. Sandcastle was just renovated.

I doubt that. He has had to of stayed at a Disney property at least once with the family while down there. The man was at IAAPA this year in Vegas and I doubt he stayed at the Travelodge. It probably is more like he just does not believe those kinds of resorts could apply to Cedar Point. "People come here for thrills, not for nice hotel beds" is something I could see him saying.
In a word... "seasonal". The Breakers has been "crap" since the beginning of time - I think they've done the best job they should do for a seasonal hotel that operates less than half the year. I'll agree the price is high for what you get, but people seem willing to pay it for the experience. Or the convenience. Or because they don't know any better.
Any "renovation" of the Bon Aire will only allow them to bring those lower rates up to standard.
Has anyone stayed in the long hallway upstairs over the entrance? Now, that's an experience!

A bit off topic, but at no coaster, Robin said the Breakers would be getting a Perkins this year.

If the Bon air section is the wing nearest to magnum, then i have an interesting story. It is soemthing I overheard when I was actually staying there in 2004 Halloween. Me and my family were staying in the tower section, 9th floor. I was coming up from the pool to my room and saw two maintenance workers by the window talking. I heard them say the park should tear the wing down for good, then they critizised it in some form or whatever, saying it was nasty, crumbling, etc. Then they left and I went to my room, laughing. Just thought I'd tell.....
I'm really surprised that they are bringing in Perkins. I thought the Perkins chain was struggling and they have been closing a lot of their locations. The restaraunt should do well in the Breakers during breakfast time/before the park opens.
