Will Cedar Point still sell Aquafina?

I was wondering...due to all the hype in the news about Pepsi's Aquafina and Coca-cola's Dasani bottled waters being basically just tap water in a bottle, will Cedar Point still sell it at the outrageous price of ??? whatever it is...$3.50 or something?

I feel these companies have mislead the public. What will the Point do?

(I am aware that I can go to any drink stand and ask for a cup of ice water while at Cedar Point and the employee will "cheerfully" give me one.)

It is tap water...but it is filtered not unlike having a filter on your home faucet. I've known that it was tap water for a long time so I don't feel like I was mislead.

Now, if I found out that Zephyrhills water was actually just tap water then I might be a little more upset.

But the way, did you know that you can fill up an 8 oz glass of tap water something like 45,000 times for the cost of a six back of soda?

It's actually $3.08.

I am talking about in the vending machines. Do they let you put 8 cents in a vending machine?

I don't buy things from Cedar Point vending machines. Although I've caught my husband buying a candy bar before from one...rip off!

"Bottled water"...while it makes for convenience...it one of the dumbest products I have ever heard of in my entire.

The most humorous part of it all is that American's b***h and moan about $3/gallon gasoline (a finite resource) and have no problem paying $3 for a bottle of water, a resouce that they can get virtually free anywhere in the country.

And, don't get me started on the folks driving their Hummers while holding their Grande lattes from Starbucks who are complaining about the price of gas.

Yes Cedar Point will still sell Aquafina Water, because it is the only water Pepsi bottles and Cedar Point has a contract will Pepsi to sell their products. And yes it will still be sold for whatever the current outragoues price is becuase Pepsi is still going to sell them the water for the same price.

Oh whoops! I was just talking about buying a water bottle at like a concession stand. Hey, at least it's not $4 like Six Flags.

I hate tap water sucks. because I hate the taste of tap water.

If people will continue to purchase water they will continue to sell it.

I think if you say that a few more times it might actually make sense.

If I ever want water at CP I just go to the concession stand and get a FREE cup of tap water with some ice in it. Not only is it colder and not bad tasting, it's FREE.

They haven't mislead anyone. It's water. For $3.50. That's all that anyone needs to know.

I don't understand all this controversy over aquafina either. I have always known that it was filtered tap water. I can't believe people are acting so surprised at the fact that aquafina originates from public drinking sources. The main reason for drinking aquafina is that it contains no chlorine and no fluoride. Yes, CP will continue to sell it because they sell pepsi products.

^Well, just because the both of us have known since day one it's filtered water, apparently a lot of people didin't. (go figure). Both Aquafina and Dansia are filtered through reverse osmosis, which by the way uses 4 times the water to produce. It's a very wastefull process, but works flawlessly. By law, if the package says "spring water" then it has to have originated from a spring. Aquafina and Dansia don't, and that's why. Coke and Pepsi know how to market products, and yes, Aquafina isn't going anywhere, until Pepsi buys a competing "spring water" imo.

I hope you don't really think that Pepsi sells their products to cedar point at a regular price and thats the reason they make it so expensive.

You would be surprised to see how much the park makes off of each drink purchase.

People don't buy bottled water because it is from a spring or mountain stream. We buy it because it is in a bottle and we can carry it around. It's convenient. I hardly doubt many people will stop buying bottled water.

Some people buy it because sometimes the tap water seems too heavily chlorinated and they don't like that.

I know some who just says it's better for you. I don't buy Dasani; I don't buy Aquafina. I like keeping bottled water on hand for picnics and things like that, but I buy whatever Big Lots sells cuz it's cheap and it's usually Crystal Geyser...which is 'bottled at the source', and that source is not a public drinking source.

I certainly don't buy soda or bottled water from CP or any amusement park.

I just wonder how many people will stop buying it while at CP and instead ask for free water, or bring in their own bottle of water (I read somewhere they let you do that). I think it's going to have some type of impact on CP, however small.

If you buy water at the rate of $1 for a 20 ounce bottle, then your paying $6.40 per gallon of water. If you pay $3 for a 20 ounce bottle of water, then your paying $19.20 per gallon of water.

It doesn't matter if they get the water from the tap or raw sewage. Once the water is treated, and processed through pH balancing, activated carbon, reverse osmosis, and UV light, there are virtually no impurities left. The water is no longer tap water when it goes through this process just as tap water is no longer lake or river water once it goes through it's processing.

From an economic standpoint, tap water is already processed and purified so it costs less to bring it to a higher standard of bottled water.

I think the irony about all of this is that most people don't know what actual spring water from the said locations tastes like. It's not good tasting water, but it sounds good on paper.

Not necessarily true. Every bottled water is different. I know of a man who actually tested pH levels and such on many of the bottled waters (spring water and "tap" water) to see which ones were best. They didn't all rate the same.

I hope they stop selling Aquafina's sour water and invest in filters in their water fountains and perhaps a way to keep it cool.

Better yet, drop Pepsi and let them take their Snake River Falls too. Switch to Coca-Cola products and carry Dasani, Smart Water and if the acquisition is complete, Fiji water too.
