I don't know why Cedar Point took out the Jumbo Jet. But here is a list of possibilities:

o Had to chase it across the parking lot every night
o Cars have electric drive motors that are less than reliable
o 60" minimum height requirement!
o Harder to take car of than other coasters
o Harder to operate than other coasters
o Lower capacity than the Wildcat

Anybody care to add any more?

The Jumbo Jet was very much like the Giant Wheel, as the control system always gave the electricians the fits It was that old manuals written in technical German thing *** Edited 11/27/2004 4:26:15 AM UTC by Dutchman***

"Had to chace it across the parking lot every night."

It had a tendency to move quite a bit.

Yes, like the Wildcat, the Jumbo Jet was a portable coaster with no fixed foundations. So as it operated, so I have heard, the darned thing would walk away.

There are some photos archived here that show the wooden blocks that it sat on. I've forgotten how many inches a season it creeped. You could see the structure flex on the blocking as it operated.

I love the wildcat!!! My daughter loves the wildcat. We have mad mouse here at Michigan Adventure that doesnt even compare. LONG LIVE THE WILDCAT

Shoot the rapids, tame and dry. Thunder Canyon, wet and laughter. Snake River Falls, soaked and smiling. White Water Landing and the old shoot the rapids, Fun and missed.
