I agree with sean. The more you take out the old shows and games, the more and more the park looses its charm.

I agree with Sean as well, only my heart will always be the dolphin show. No dive show could ever hold a stick to the Oceana shows. I've seen dive shows before, but not CP's, and I don't much care to take time out of my day for it.
But back to the topic at hand. I doubt maXair (which is not an impressive name or spelling) will have much of an impact on WT ridership. I can't imagine somebody picking one or the other as opposed to riding BOTH. I agree with Crazy Horse in that it'll affect DT's lines more than WT.
I'll take DT over WT or maXair any day.
Any similarity in name is purely coincidental.

In all of my time reading posts on PointBuzz I have never read something so insane and surprising.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
Where else in the world are you going to find a Disaster Transport? Taking unpredictable curves in sheer darkness is far more enjoyable to me than the up, twist, back, up, twist, back, etc., etc., of WT. I've only ridden WT a couple times, and I'm bored with it. DT's been around for 15 years and it's still as enjoyable as the first time.
Don't get me wrong, WT and maXair (having ridden Delerium) are fun rides, but I easily prefer DT over both, as insane and surprising it may seem to you.

What ridership on WT are you talking about? Really WT has never quite seen big crowds. I like the name maXair, it works well with the ride and the logo is plain simple and looks cool.

I am a huge WT fan and Delerium was the only reason why I enjoyed my one trip to PKI last year. I think that the adition of a great ride like this right beside the most under-rated coaster in the park makes one great little corner of the rides that only CP regulars spend very much time.
So basicaly.... the twister midway will be busy for about a year untill the public gets tired of maXair and then the quiet midway will be empty again AND have two great rides.

It was funny, I was at the gym on the treadmill this evening and I was watching Wheel of Fortune and it was a commercial so was I was looking to see what was on the other TVs and I looked at the one next to it and saw a giant Huss Frisbee, it may have been Delirium but I'm not sure, it was Newlyweds and Nick and Jessica were at an amusement park riding that ride. After that I looked back at the TV I was watching and Wheel of Fortune was back and the answer to the puzzle was "Screaming Roller Coaster Riders", and it was a prize puzzle and the prize was a trip to any Paramount part within the United States. I was very happy to see all of that.

CoasterGuy78 do you plan on attending Coastermania this year? If you do you then will probably like the nighttime ERT for DT they will be having the lights on. You can see the flyer on the ACE website.
"He says to me, 'Oh, there'll be no tip today, but on your death bed you will recieve total consciousness.' So, I got that going for me." Carl Spackler
If it was Nick and Jessica, yeah, it was Delirium at PKI. Paramount is Viacom, which owns MTV, so you can bet they weren't going to Disney World. Nick also worked as a seasonal at PKI growing up.
And "unpredictable curves" on DT? You've gotta be kidding.

It feels like rolling around a track with your eyes closed to me. Ride any other coaster at night close your eyes a you've got the Disaster Transport effect. Nothing is exciting about DT, a strobe light or two would make the ride a little better.

I think it's likely that the lines for WT will increase a bit with the addition of a large, recognizable draw to the oceana midway. WT has one of the best wait time to thrill ratios in the park and could stand an increase in ridership to pull some people away from the other top-draw rides. It's possible that MaxAir will pull a portion of the Raptor opening time rush over to the other side. That could equal less of the usual dead time in the morning for Twister.
That's my take on it anyways.

Im a big Wicked Twister fan so Ill have to stay out of saying how much I like that ride, but Disaster Trasport is a good ride too, Im into dark rides so itll be nice to have maXair in that area, it should liven things up a bit.

I agree with Coaster Monkey on that. I heard a lot of people very upset last year because Top Thrill Dragster was down a lot. So I think since MaXair is opening not only will it draw crowds to MaXair, but also MaXair. I think with the addition of MaXair, you'll see the line wait for Top Thrill Dragster go down to an hour and a half like Millennium Force is now.
Well - for you folks who were there yesterday and today - is wicked twister busier???
Cedar Point - An adventure waiting for everyone.
^ even though Wicked Twister became a walk on after 5. but it was nice to see the games busy.
Come check out the videos at www.extremepki.com
WT was pretty busy. Walk ons in the morning and late afternoon, but during early afternoon (peak time of park) there was a 45 minute wait, the longest I've ever seen for it.
