Wicked Twister opening day!

Sorry this is a little late.

I waited all winter for opening day and finally the day came! I decided that for my first ever Cedar Point opening day trip I'd take my mom with me.

I had planned on meeting up with KicksTheSky and robodud while up there and, of course, they got there before we did (what with my mom in tow and such) and they were already riding Wicked Twister.

After heading over toward that section of the park the only thing I can say is "Wow!" That thing is big. It's amazing how far up the spikes that train goes. Those things wobble a lot too. I wouldn't be suprised if they wobble more than they're supposed to. I'll be that by the end of the season they'll be doing a lot of welding up there. They'll probably even add some extra supports to keep it from shaking so much. It was freaking a lot of people out!

The line was almost non-existant. My mom didn't feel like riding so I hopped in line and took my first lap solo. Man, what a rush. I can't believe it took this long for Cedar Point to build a launched ride. It's too bad, too, because since they built one now I guess we won't get a ride like that Xcelerator thing out at Knott's. (Man, that thing looks cool!)

Anyway, the launch out of the station is pretty sweet, but the best thing is the last backward launch. I especially like it in the back seat. Facing down at the beach while spinning and falling is such a rush. I'm so glad there isn't a holding brake back there.

I got seven laps on it!

The music in the station is really cool, too. I wish I knew the name of the song so I could download it and burn it to a CD to play in my car on the way to the park when I head up there again the last week of May.

Anyway, get out to the park and ride Wicked Twister! Be sure to hop on Gemini so you can look over the wall at the stuff that's going on back where the old Dodgem was. I bet it's going to be that megalooper everyone's been talking about us getting. Maybe even one of the new B&M flyers!

I was there too! I think this ride is going to do really well.

It had a few problems that day, though. I doubt CP is ever going to go with another Intamin ride. I bet we're getting a B&M for '03.

Some people will believe anything... I even heard CP is lowering the price of Cotton Candy to 25 cents...

Yeah, Yeah... they heard it from Lemon Chill Guy...

WT was down later in the day, if its anything like Millennium Force they will NEVER get another Intamin ride again.

If 4 years is a little late then you must be at least 350 years old.

I heard reports that it hasn't been doing too good the last couple of days. Boy, do those spikes sway a lot. I'm sure Intamin knows what they're doing and everything is fine, though.
