Wicked Twister has New Supports on the one side

Why don't you think you would ride it raptorfn86? Just curious.
Well im a very safe person I know chances of any thing happining are minut but I really like to feel safe on a ride. I'm sur i'll ride it, I may just have to look at it for a while.:x
I think Wicked Twister is one of the best rides at CP and I know it's safe.

Hey, try some magenta supports. I think that would look cool!

I have a couple of questions for the experts out here in regards to the new supports. Are these supports supposed to reduce the amount of "twisting", or the lateral movement of the track? Was an official explanation ever given from CP about the issues last year?

Good luck finding an "expert" on the site...

...but I have no answer to your questions.

Opening Day, just a few long days away!

Magnum Force, c'mon now, be truthfull. You really didn't do that in Photoshop, did you?? Looks like mspaint to me...

I for one, think that it actually wouldn't look that bad with teal supports.

What? I don't know that! (referring to MF&WTer's awesome sig).

The new supports look pretty and nice and they reduce the amount of sway drastically... but as of now, the ride program is the same as the end of the year.

Also new this year are foam padding on the backs of the cars to cut down on face plant injuries and multicolored (black, blue, and yellow) playground traction rubber in the middle of the station to help people get up into the train and hurt less when they fall.

Any word on whethere they'll change the program? What does the current program do that the initial one does not? Does it not reach full speed/height?

The current program doesn't reach the top of the back spike on the first run... only on the second. And even then, I don't think it gets quite as high on any of the spikes as it did last year... but that's subject to my horrible memory, so take it with a quarter grain of salt.

Rode on WT today. The current program seems to be very similar to last year's reduced program. In other words, even with the new supports ( which do look nice ), it's not the same as it was when it first opened. It might be going a little higher, but that might just be my wishfull thinking. Still fun though, and was a 10 min wait at 11:30.

I don't think it's up to 'opening specs' either. Maybe they're waiting to see how the new supports work out. Or maybe they'll keep it at where it is. In either case, it's still fun to ride. :)

Whatever the decision, it'll be in the best interests of public safety and structural stability.

We rode it Sunday also. It was fun, First time in the back seat. It was only a 10 min wait for us also..

Don't you hate it when you try to say something funny but only YOU laugh?

My son and I didn't believe it was up to opening day specs last year, but it WAS running better than at the end of last year.

Wait. So it doesn't do the full time or it doesn't go as high?
