I said Wicked Twister in my interview so I'm really hoping for it as I wait for my contract. Chances aren't probably that good with me being a 1st year, but we'll have to wait and see...

Being a first year employee has nothing to do where you are gonna be put. I know many people in there first year get placed on the bigger rides. Such as Top Thrill Dragster, Wicked Twister, and Millenium Force. Alot of these people worked there first year the same year that ride opened.

Wicked Twister is a LOT of fun to work. There's not a whole lot of guest illnesses over there, your line at the end of the night is non-existant so you're out of work early (there were nights we left before Giant Wheel). The ride itself is in a great position.. you get a breeze off the lake during those hot summer months, and even if there isn't a breeze, the train creates it's own. You're not far from anything, you punch in, and come in behind Transport Refreshments, you're at the ride. The employee caf is just down the midway, you're not wasting your break time walking thru the entire park.

The crew was the best part, though. It's all in what you make of it. Getting to know your crew, and working as a team makes the summer so much better.

Yeah... the sand. How could I forget? I had my own personal sandbox in my room @ Commons from coming home and emptying out my shoes every night.

I still say they fill those lowzones with water, stick fountains underneath the spikes, and call it done. If you lose your keys, cellphone, inhaler, whatever... oops, too bad, it's in the water. Please secure all loose and valuable items. Plus, filled with water and fountains under the spikes would just look sweet.

I am working Wicked Twister this year. I've seen how the ride operates and love riding the ride myself. I worked several rides my first year...Blue Streak, Mantis, Raptor, Magnum, and Top Thrill Dragster. Majority of the time I was on Magnum and had a blast with the crew. I know the TL and ATL this summer and they are some of the nicest people. For all you first year people...this is my second year going back by the way...you are going to have the summer of a life time. Bring warm CLOTHES! The ride is set on the beach and it gets chilly if you come early in the season. Also I've heard sand may be a problem...which I hope it doesn't bother my contacts. egh...we'll see. If you have sensitive eyes, contacts are a bad idea! WT is a great place to work, you never have to come in really early, and even though the sand is a pain, the heat and A/C in controls almost makes up for it! And you get to see the dive show 8,000 times...
