Why work for $6.25?

Why do you all get so exited about selling corn dogs or pushing a button all day long for $6.25 an hr in the hot sun? Minimum wage in Washington State is $6.72 why don’t you all come over here? I always wondered why everyone was so exited about making $6.25/hr. When I went out there I was all about making cash and did so. I have one word for anyone who wants to leave cp with more than their bonus check TIPS. Ya you make only $2.13 hr but after tips you can easily put over $6000 in the bank for two months worth of work.
It might not seem like much to work for $6.25/hour, but yes, the bonus can easily add up to 700+ at the end of the season -- a nice gift in the mail 6-8 weeks after you've stopped working. That beats the minimum wage you've stated. Plus the living expenses at CP are dirt-cheap: no utilities, no phone bills, and your rent is horrifically inexpensive when all that is included. Even the most expensive is just over $30/week, when your checks could easily be over $200. Also, being paid weekly is a good deal, and the other benefits for employees: admission, etc.

Working there a few years back ('96-'98) I easily made $3000+ each summer, and that was when the bonus started at $.50 and the wage was lower. The figures would be all the more impressive now.

Besides, working at CP is much more than the money! Check out the employee features on my website to learn more about the reasons why we keep on going back.

Wow you guys only make $200 a paycheck I could make that in day easily when I was serving at Cp last year. I had a few $300+ days yes in a day.
So why do you want to push a button again?
It's not all about the money you make....it's about whether or not you enjoy your job! :)

I had the option to make at least $8.75 an hour and it allowed me to make my own hours.....did I take it, NO! I would have had a miserable summer working there! I wouldn't give up my job at CP for anything!

19 more days! (till I start that is) :)

Any time you want to come and "push a button" with me.....let me know when I can expect you. Maybe we all can show you how fun it is and how some of us can't believe we get paid for what we do. Ever seen a little kid scared to death to get on Magnum, ya talk them into getting on the ride, send the train, and then to have a little kid tugging on your shirt when they get off just to scream at you about how exciting it was....well, I have and I wouldn't trade that memory for anything....clear, you're outta here!
Hey Andy what about the big kids that ride that make a difference in people's days?

You know the thing that makes this thread even sader??? I was being PAID all 89 days I was at the park last season... hehehhehe

People do it for the love.. same reason I'm still at the job I'm at.. I hate some of the stuff, but I like the work in general. Granted I've turned down $100k+ / year jobs in the past 2 years... But it's a matter of where I'd have to live and doing something I don't enjoy as much as I am now.
(that and I wouldn't be able to blow off 89days of work, still get paid, and ride coasters... Being boss has it's benifits)

P.S. Is it just me or have the negative posts and personal attacks increased since "Dark Side" came down??? Also most negative attacks seem to come from new people.. who just either A: got an account, or B: got another account so they don't have to answer to thier actions, and they all use hotmail accounts???

Just a personal observation...

I knew all you people would be going off on CP is the greatest place to work I would do it for free. Maybe you all missed my point I was a waiter last year at Breakwater and made mad cash. Why would turn down tons of free flowing cash to work a ride?
I agree with you CP is a great place to work.
Your name alone shoots any credibility you may have had out the window.. a new account.. to a hotmail address.. with a nickname inteded to start an argument.

Please.. go back to thrillride.com
