It might not seem like much to work for $6.25/hour, but yes, the bonus can easily add up to 700+ at the end of the season -- a nice gift in the mail 6-8 weeks after you've stopped working. That beats the minimum wage you've stated. Plus the living expenses at CP are dirt-cheap: no utilities, no phone bills, and your rent is horrifically inexpensive when all that is included. Even the most expensive is just over $30/week, when your checks could easily be over $200. Also, being paid weekly is a good deal, and the other benefits for employees: admission, etc.
Working there a few years back ('96-'98) I easily made $3000+ each summer, and that was when the bonus started at $.50 and the wage was lower. The figures would be all the more impressive now.
Besides, working at CP is much more than the money! Check out the employee features on my website to learn more about the reasons why we keep on going back.
