Why Sunday May 5th, and not Saturday May 4th?

So wait? All the people who pay all that money for a first ride on WT on May 5 won't even be close to being the first. That doesn't seem right.

That was the idea that I was getting Brent. Charity or no charity, at least give those people who are willing to pay be the first from the general public.

...I will be more than happy to give you a cigarette...

Hey, the exact same thing happened for Millennium Force... in fact there were even more pre-Opening Day riders for MF (AAA Day, Media Day, Longaberger Day).

"If we go any faster, she'll blow apart for sure!"

You could always gets a job working for Longaberger. Hurry up and get hired part time, then you can quit after the Longaberger Day.

Longaberger Day has no effect on any of us really. They do it every year, no big deal.

If they can afford it, great. Just be glad it doesnt happen all season long by other companies.

Actually, isn't the park opening a full week earlier this season than last season? So the attendance on the equivalent days to May 6-9 this year would have been REALLY low last year because the park wasn't even open!

No, it opened the same weekend last year, May 6th to be specific.

It's very hard to drink all day...
Unless you start first thing in the morning.

I think the park opened a full week earlier last year, because if memory serves me correctly, didn't Millennium Force open on May 12th? If so then last year they opened early and closed later (weekends through October).
Yeah, Longenberger and AAA were the weekend before in 2000, so in reality they are following the same schedule as 2000 except AAA is traded for a regular day. They probably saw the good attendance levels those first weekdays in 2000 and thought it could spill over into the week before for 2001. No new coaster, no hype though.

My CP and coaster pics

Slippity Slappity woo hoo hoo.
Now was that really necessary stinky?

I'm still curious though if WT is really going to bring in what MF did its opening day/year. I mean, from people that I've talked to, they haven't sounded too impressed with CP getting basically what SF has down the road. But a 300'+ coaster just astounds the GP, and causes them to come to the Point just because of the curiosity behind it.

I know what you mean BirdOfPrey, my mom knows some people in West Virginia that came up for the hype of MF. They had me escort them that day, and the parents were too afraid to get on. They just wanted to tell everyone at home that they had seen it. I don't think WT will draw peoople like that.

I agree with the cult theory...
