If the attraction is fun, then why question its installation? Who cares if it's cookie cutter or just around the corner? They want things that will entertain the customer. And you can't convince me that any single water park attraction (except maybe a water coaster) will pull in attendance. Especially at CP.
That, Shorty, is misleading. Funnel of Fear has not been cancelled.

What difference does it make? What is it with this mentality that everything at CP has to be the [superlative]-est? If three-fourths of the guests at the park come from Detroit and Cleveland, then it makes a whole lot of sense to me that it doesn't make a damn bit of difference if it's unique or not, because there's nothing else in the market like it.
