Why no press release yet?

After waiting and waiting i'm wondering why Cedar Point was yet to put out a press release for number 16. I'm wondering if there is more to this than we know of, because i've also heard rumors of a kiddie coaster to be built in Peanuts Playground up by Pagoda. Even Six Flags Magic Mountain who is building another coaster for the next up coming year called scream has all ready announced the dimensions and every detail of the coaster. So I'm just wondering if they are building a kiddie coaster for the next year to hold the coaster record out right and that's why they haven't announced it yet.

Personally, I could care less when they announce whatever, it will still arrive as planned. I don't know about that kiddie coaster rumor though, would be cool.

P.S.: Blue is going down! Red all the way since 6/98.

"Too weird to live, too rare to die."

I watched a show on the Travel Channel yesturday about the Coasters of the West. It was all about how California has this and California has that. How they annouce that they have the most rollercoasters in the world. Blah blah blah! They don't! Why don't they say that they are tied with Cedar Point? Because they want all the glory. I think it would be nice if Cedar Point built two rollercoasters this year so that they could take back their title.

Although, coasters isn't everything. I just don't like those rich snobby people from California getting all the attention. Go CP........ GO!

"Twisted Sister" is the name of the new rollercoaster at Cedar Point for 2003. Just watch!

I also watched that show and I got angry as well saying that California had it all...... Well It may take one state to have it all But it takes one park in Sandusky Ohio to have it all :)

All Hands On Deck ;)
I know. I was angry at that show too! Like Turnpike Joe said why can't they say their tied with Cedar Point! In the next 2 to 3 years CP will win their title back (and should I say BY ALOT!!!!!!) And No stupied park can take it away, CP will always stay as "Americas Rockin' Roller Coast!" / "Roller Coaster Capital Of the WORLD"

Clear! Ready Ready.
Launching In 3........2........OFF.......WOSH!

Wow, you guys really take this enthusiast thing pretty far. You're upset about a Discovery Channel show saying SFMM has the most coasters? Don't you think there's so much more in the world that you could be directing this anger toward? Something that could help better our society or mankind as a whole? Instead of posting on the internet about your anger toward a TV show saying an amusement park 2000 miles away has one more roller coaster, why not take the time to direct your anger towards poverty and voulnteer for the Salvation Army or the YMCA? You could redirect your anger towards terrorism to supporting our thousands and thousands of soldiers that are stationed in the Persian Gulf on this Thanksgiving waiting to stop whatever mess breaks out over there.

There's just so much more to be angry about in this world than roller coasters. Look at the big picture of our world, not just the little picture of the coaster enthusiast community.

*I resign from the game of life if I have to play with stupidity.
*We're getting screwed in the rear two coasters in a row.

Michael Darling has decided to play Gandhi.
Wow, I wasn't sure how wide-spread that "kiddie coaster" rumor was. :-) There's actually quite a bit of *news*about that flying around.

Michael Darling, that is a prime example of why people are so mad in this forum. Everyone is upset because no one can write their opinion anymore with out it being made fun of or put down.

Last time I checked this was a Cedar Point Forum and my post was about Cedar Point. I don't understand why you would poke fun at us for writing our opinions. I simply stated that I didn't think it was fair for Six Flags Magic Mountain to be claiming to have the most rolleroasters in the world, when in reality they don't. They are tied with Cedar Point. I never once said that I was angry. I just don't like their approach.

Sorry if that makes you angry, that we are writing posts about Cedar Point and not the Salvation Army or the YMCA.

The more i read your post the more it seems that you are the one that is angry.

Im sorry, but I have been to both parks, and just to say, Six Flags Magic Mountain is the better park. They are more extreme, at Cedar Point the rides are really repetitive, Millenium Force is almost exactly like Magnum. Mean Strreak, is just an upgrade of Blue Streak, and so on. Sorry, but Six Flags Magic Mountain has the best roller coasters. They have a 4D, best coaster ever! Cedar Point, just copied Knotts on this launch thing, and did it just to grab a record. Also, does Ceadr Point advertise has having the most coasters, tied with MAgic Mountain, of course not, West coast coasters are the best, and can never be topped. Sorry if you guys feel differently. By the way people in California aren't snobish! Have you ever been here, or are you just assuming? Nobody should take this post the wrong way, I am just stating my opinions.
Mf is almost exactly like magnum? What are you smokin?

And Mean streak an upgrade of Blue streak? Hah....I mean there's one thing to back up your park, but to say stuff that obviously isn't true, heh, that's reeeeeeeeeeal cool.....

<cough cough Raptor vs. MM's clone, Batman> (just to name one)

They are both great parks. I'm not gonna MM sucks because I haven't been there, but c'mon....HOW is Millennium Force like Magnum? Or Mean Streak like Blue Streak? And by that rationelle, is Mantis just a bigger Corkscrew and Gemini a bigger Mine Ride?

Yes, SocalShady I have been there. Yes I will agree that it is a nice park. And yes I will agree that Magic Mountain is overated.

The people in Calinfornia came across as being very snobbish to everyone that I know has gone over there. My cousin who moved over there is noticing this too. If you watched to show on Wednesday on the Travel Channel you would have noticed this as well.

It's about time! A CP vs. SFMM debate on the internet. Our long wait is finally over ...

Age and treachery will always overcome youth and skill.

I like the comment about CP copying Knotts. I mean...its not like they OWN the place or anything! They were testing the technology at their smaller park and getting it ready for something bigger and better. I've spent plenty of time in California installing smaller rides for a company I used to work for and I can honestly say that I would take one day at CP than a week of California parks. Thats bad enough, but throw in the rest of Ohio and California should hang its head in shame. There is no comparison.
I did watch the show, I also taped it, and with a narrator talking that soft, I dont know how you can think were snobish. I lioved in Ohio and I now your type, you think that the Cedar Point is the best thing ever, and there will never be anything better. I do think it is a good park, but Magic Mountain, and Knotts Berry Farm will own forever, your Dragster project looks like its about to fall down. Xcelerator will always own. Also things the same on Magnum, and Millenium:

One big hill, tunnels, and one twist double turn, then its over. Same with the two streaks.

Name, bunny hops, and they turn around, their all the same

GHOSTRIDER ownz all!

Again, sorry if I come off as being mean, im not, Im just saying that you guys should open up, and relize that California parks, are better then Cedar Point.

You're saying Magic Mountain and Knotts Berry Farm. So let's take Cedar Point and Kings Island. That would crush Magic Mountain and Knotts Berry Farm.
I don't get it...you're trying to match Cedar Point up against its own sister park, Knott's? I'm glad you think that Knott's is a great park because both Cedar Point and Knott's are owned by Cedar Fair. I would agree that PKI and CP would crush your California parks, though.

MF has three big hills, one small ejector hill, three overbanks, and several low-lying turns that give a great sense of speed--it never looses its speed. Magnum has two floater hills, a pretzel turnaround, and 6 ejector hills. How is that the same?

Mean Streak and Blue Streak are the same? Huh? What the hell are you talking about? BS has several airtime hills with some nice laterals on the turnaround. MS is a twister...you get little to no airtime on it at all. You said that it has bunny hops and a turnaround...are you smoking something? The whole damn thing is a continuous turnaround!

With that kind of mentality I could say that Collosus and Psyclone are the same because they are both wooden. Or even better Flashback and Psyclone are the same because they are rough as hell and rarely ever open. :)

Pointers don't just love CP for the rides, it's the unique atmosphere of being in the middle of a lake, out of touch with the rest of the world. It's the generations that have enjoyed the park before us. Its the rich history of 132 years. Rides are one thing, but generous employees, a very clean park, and an over-all stellar atmosphere is what we love about it. Do you get that at any Six Flags park? I don't think so.

I just want to get my thoughts in here too about the two parks, and I have to say that Cedar Point is better. Not because I love the park so much, but it's because it truely is better. Magic Mountain may have the head start on cutting-edge technology, but Cedar Point isn't far behind. Besides, the flat ride department at the mountain isn't much to brag about.

Socalshady: You see, many of us would not bash your comments if you wouldn't add little comments at the end of your post like "Im just saying that you guys should open up, and relize that California parks, are better then Cedar Point." Since when were you made the CEO of Opinions Inc.? I think you need to realize that this is America, and we have the right to think what we want. If you think SFMM is better than Cedar Point, don't discuss it here because this is a Cedar Point forum.

Very Well said CP_Bound, I totally agree with you on everything you said. Especially, That last paragraph.

CP Has the most amazing enviorment, No other park has that. No other park gives me the same feeling CP does. When going down that causeway. Its amazing.
