Why no more B&M installs?

As an employee you would NOT believe some of the rumors about why no B&Ms. I think however, the one that CP had a 3 coaster contract with Intamin would stand to make the most sense. I can't imagine CP wouldn't build something just because another park has the same type coaster (SUE-WT) CP is into record breaking, bigger and better. I know a B&M floorless would rock! :)
I adore Medusa, Nitro and Batman KF, and anyone who knows me KNOWS B&M are my heros because of Raptor (oh yea and Talon ;))
Bottom line is I don't believe anyone was disappointed in MF or WT and TTD is going to be awesome too, but I have to say that another B&M certainly wouldn't have broken my heart!! CP is FAR from done building, who knows what they will be "building for the future" next! :)

It's all about getting around the barrels, or over the fences, right leads, no faults, fastest time and looking pretty when done. What's so hard about that? :)

I'm not sure if the rumor is true or not, but there was one floating around that Cedar Fair asked B/M to build Millennium Force first, but they turned it down due to the height.

I don't buy that. Isn't SD2000 a B&M?

No, Steel Dragon is a Morgan.

Morgan question: Is that a division of Arrow? I'm reading this book on Karl Bacon and Ed Morgan and they were the founders of Arrow. I don't know much about Morgan but I was told that their track is like Arrow.

Cedar Point 2003, where no roller coaster rider has gone before

Morgan is more of a spin off from Arrow. The founders of Morgan originally worked at Arrow, then left to form their own company.
Arrow is now owned by S&S....I believe.
Dana Morgan is the son of Ed Morgan who, with Karl Bacon, founded Arrow Development. Dana was the President of Arrow Dynamics for a time, but at one of the buy-out points in Arrow's history (about the time Arrow moved to Utah) he opted out and started his own company. That company is now owned by Chance (now Chance-Morgan) just as Arrow is now owned by S&S.

Oh , okay. Thanks Greg. I knew there was an 'M' in the name somewhere. ;)

Is it possible to get a B&M flier over the lakes water? How insane would 'seagulls attack' be? It'd have to be one of my favorites. No joke.

My top five favorite CP coasters' are:

1) MF

2) Raptor

3) MXL

4) Gemini

5) weakstreak

There will not be a coaster built over the lake.

Don't we explain this one like every two weeks during the offseason?

Uhm. I'm not sure if you're aware of this: Cedar Fair and Six Flags are two seperate companies. I'm pretty sure that Cedar Point isn't concerned if they "take away the uniqueness" of anything from SFWoA.

So would you care if sfwoa built a standup , invertad, and a hyper taking the uniquenes from Rator, mantis, and magnim?

By da way, I thnk a we need a b&m floor-full coaster with 2 loops.

When CP built Wicked Twister I thought good, one less reason to have to go to SFWOA. So, I think building popular rides, and giviing people less of a reason to go to your competition, is a smart move. Though, I still go to SFWOA once a year to see the marine side. I always enjoyed Sea World, so that tradition continues.

Florida may have Disneyworld and Key West,
but Ohio has Cedar Point and Put-In-Bay.
It's great to live in Ohio!

I wouldn't mind in the least. I've never been to SFWoA, and I have no plans to in the near future. What they build or don't build it a moot point. I'll spend my money where I *know* I'll have a good day.

Ok, this is what I wanted to say...

Don't waste your time at SF:WoA, it's really bad. I'm just glad my ticket was free. Batman and X-Flight were cool but thats it. I'd NEVER pay to go there.

Obviously you've only been to WOA once if you think that the only things worth doing is two mediocre coasters. Well that is assuming that you hate wooden coasters, marine life, impulse coasters and Vekoma clones (well don't we all hate those). WOA isn't a great park by any means, but it isn't a waste of time.
I think we should all just respect both parks. Both have they're ups and downs. SFWoA is my home park and definately isn't a waste of time. So please no bashing it.

ANYWAY..........lets get back to the topic and talk about Cedar Point and they're recent abscence of B&M's. How about adding one of their vertical coasters? CP seems to like adding coasters with 90 degree drops.

I'm still praying for a B&M flyer...I hope that's the next coaster at CP. (probably 4 years from now due to their astonishing growth pattern as of late)
same here. I ve wanted a flyer since stealth came out (havent riden it cuz im 14 and in indiana) or something like X but have a feeling that no one will make one like that again
