why isnt Demon Drop considered a coaster?

I'm just saying, on S:TE the height advantage is really different. Plus you don't go up nearly all the way on the track.

I can see what you're saying sean, at least TTD hits every bit of track on its way around, wheras there is a ton of wasted track at the top of S:TE just to make it taller.

Of course the same could be said for Wicked Twister. It doesn't nearly go to the full 215 feet (I would imagine its around 195-200 though) but its still listed as a 215 foot coaster.

Jr Gemini is a coaster. It has all of the traditional elements: Lift , drops and hops. And, is full circuit. Case closed. Just because they are meant for children to ride them, or doesn't break any records, does not make this any less of a coaster. Ever been to PKI and heard of Top Cat's Taxi Jam? Small in length and height, but it is still a coaster.

Yeah, they're ALL cheating. That doesn't make it right in my opinion. In some respects, though I'd rather see CP cheat some more with those cheesy kiddie coasters IF it means they could devote some resources to building some nice dark rides and/or restoring some classic flat rides. That list of improvements up there includes a lot of misc. junk alright (what does a marina expansion got to do with the amusement park itself? Unless you get to CP by sailboat, big deal; ditto for Hotel changes, etc. that have no effect on most travelers commuting or staying outside the park), but the cash expenditures of coasters versus flat rides (adult ones) ratio is staggering and even the number of coasters is higher. Go back further to 1990 or something and compare the ratios and changes. Also, how many rides have they removed during that time? They don't remove coasters. They do remove flat/dark/water rides. And they currently have ZERO dark rides and I do think that sucks. The pirate ride wasn't terribly good by today's standards, but I still think it was better than nothing. I can't help but feel like there's nothing but coasters at CP these days even if it's not entirely true. The flat rides are just here and there and things like the Spider don't interest me. I miss rides like The Rotor which I can't find anymore.

Yes, in general my comments are my opinions. I think that's a given on a message forum. OTOH, I think most people think the Mean Streak mostly sucks or is barely ok at best and a small minority like it. That's why there's never a line for it while the first year it opened, I had to wait like 3 hours. I doubt the majority of people would cry if it were torn down and replaced with (a) better designed coaster(s). Some people want to see Disaster Transport go because it's boring and too short. I kind of like it, despite those shortcomings. We all have our own opinions. I don't get angry at those that don't share my opinions. So why get upset with me? Do you think my comments have some bearing on CP's decisions? I don't think so.

But in my OPINION, I'd sooner consider The Demon Drop a coaster than Junior Gemini. I mean a monorail is on a track and complete a circuit, but it's not a coaster. A train is on a track and completes a circuit and can "coast" as well, but it's not a coaster. I can run faster than the Jr. Gemini. I can't call that a coaster. I call it a kiddie ride like any other at the park. Meanwhile, The Demon Drop fits all descriptions of what a coaster does and it moves fast and adults can ride it. I don't think of it as a coaster, but again, I'd sooner call it a coaster than the Jr. Gemini. Woodstock Express I could call a coaster (a real kiddie coaster), but Jr. Gemini is just pushing it. They should have called it the Baby Gemini or something as it's not "Junior" at all.

You complained about Jr. Gemini, I told you about Goliath Jr. You said Cedar Point only cares about coasters, I showed you the enormous list of improvements (which, despite your opinion, is not miscellaneous junk). I don't think you fully understand the importance of the resort side of Cedar Point. You seem to think that bringing back Pirate Ride or Rotor is more important than expanding the hotel or renovating one of the largest marinas on the Great Lakes. Not to mention the rides that were added ... Chaos, Power Tower, and the classic Tilt-a-Whirl. HalloWeekends is junk? Lighthouse Point is just miscellaneous? Midway Market? All of those improvements are vital to Cedar Point's continued success.

I didn't specifically compare each ride from SFMM to each ride at CP. I simply stated that Cedar Point ranks higher than SFMM in my opinion (and a lot of others).
