Why is Sunday the least busy day at Cedar Point? and more

I was looking at the crowded topic. It says Sunday is the least busy day which does not make sense to me as it is at the week end and should be crowded like in English themeparks. I am planning to visit this summer and would like to know which is a good time to go in my school holidays between 25th of July and 2nd of September and which are the best two days together to visit ? Also, when do you have school holidays in America?

Students are generally out of school at that time in the US as well although in Ohio some seem to return in late August. The last week or two in August are reasonable but that time period is pretty busy. Look at the calendar for the weeks with shorter hours of the park being open. That is generally a good indicator.

Don't know why Sunday's are slow and they are not that slow but that do appear less busy than other days particularily later in the day.

I'm going out to get some air.

I've deduced that Sunday is the least busy day because for most it's a travel day if you're vacationing. If the kids are still in school, it's not going to be busy because they're hopefully at home doing their last minute home work and preparing for the week ahead.

In my experience, Tuesdays and Wednesdays are the least busiest days. I have yet to be at Cedar Point on Sunday though.

I've had some good Sundays. The best part about Sunday is you can count on it clearing out as the afternoon goes on.

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

My thoughts:

Yeah....middle of the week (Tues, Wed, Thurs) are always less busy. As far as the weekend...a lot of people might get off of work on Friday and travel to the park. Possibly get there early enough to do some riding Friday night, but definitely be in the park all day Saturday. Stay over Saturday night. Maybe ride some more on Sunday morning, but some vacationers wouldn't pay for a full day admission to ride for just a few hours and would just decide to sleep in and drive home. For those that DO stay for a bit on Sunday, I agree with Vince, it'll clear out through the afternoon. Unless Monday is a holiday also! Then MONDAY becomes the travel home day.

You can never predict these things, but these are good general guidelines in my experiences over the years.

How much more weight loss will it take to get on Raptor, Mantis, MF and TTD?

I've been there on sundays where I've had to either go to school or do something early in the morning the next day. After a long day at the cedar point, I get tired the next day. In conclusion, people that stay for the weekend at a hotel, they decide to head home on a sunday so they can rest up and not be so tired the next day.

So stoked for 2010 :]

I was just there on a Sunday(7th of June) and arrived at 4pm. There were no lines at all. MF was 15 min, Raptor 15 min, Magnum-walk on, Wicked Twister-walk on. Monday-Wednesday were a lot busier. All in all the longest waits the whole time were for Maverick. It was always between30min-1 1/2 hours. Mostly about 35-40 minutes of wait time. The line did move really fast, though.

I think whoever says attendance is down is wrong. Last year I would always go on Tuesdays and Thursdays and it would always be dead, (and this was as a senior in high school, so schools out). I'm thinking "this year will be sweet, getting out of college weeks before high schools it will be empty! This year I have been 5 times already, all Tuesdays and Thursdays except for one Sunday and they have been PACKED. Keep in mind 2 of these days were before high schools were out, and not physics week. I did go last Sunday and it wasn't too bad at all. Economy my ass, it seems like everyone who is laid off/skipping school/skipping work is not flying anywhere, they're going to the point.

Are they still running the promotion for $15 off if you visit Tuesday-Thursday? If so that may be the reason for bigger crowds.

The $29.99 midweek ticket promotion ended two weeks ago.

We are currently running a Family Pack special with 4 one-day park tickets for $140, which comes out to $35 each. You must purchase by July 5 at www.cedarpoint.com and the tickets are valid any day through Labor Day.

There is also a pay once, visit twice special for $54.99. The tickets are valid any two operating days, including Halloweekends. That offer expires June 28, and again, you must purchase online in advance at www.cedarpoint.com.

See http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/admission/tickets/deals.cfm for all the details and latest offers.

So far this season Sundays haven't been the least busiest days. They would be tuesday - thursday, and usually Sunday is around 4th busiest.. but it could change too. I would say every day in July through mid August is just as bad except Friday Saturday and Monday being the busiest.. or unless it rains.
