Well none the less im just going to go up this weekend anyway as a last getaway before winter.

I spoke with a supervisor in the reservations department. Take it with a grain of salt if it has been posted. She stated there will be NO HW attractions open this weekend. She knows the reason it was to be closed was for a health fair. I guess they did not have enough people sign up to make the buyout worth while so they opened the park back up. So there you have it. Thats why they were closed, and the answer to the HW attractions.

Hmmm...thinking of going this weekend now for the pass renewal fest...

If this health fair thing is true, anyone know if all the people that the park was to be closed for will still be there?

Also, what does this free jacket look like? Is it this black v-neck pullover on Cedar Point's online store?

Cool...wasn't planning on going, but they lured me back afer an awesome day @ CP last Wednesday.

There will definitely not be any Halloweekends attractions open this weekend. Screamster training is taking place this weekend, nobody will be working in the zones/houses until September 18th. If I remember correctly from years past, the only Halloweekends attraction that has shown up during the bonus weekend has been the Monsters Rock show at the Garter. Not sure if that's happening this year or not.

Anyone know if Platinum Pass holders get ERT starting at 5PM tomorrow instead of 6PM as always? I tried to call CP, but they were closed.

Also, anyone know what time the season pass center will be open to renew? Will they be open at 4PM if we got there early?

I have been told it is Honda Day for Ohio Honda employees on Saturday. Employees get in free, families half price. This would make sense if Honda backed out of the park buyout. The workers still get to go and Honda probably saves a ton of money by not having to buy the place out.

Shades, if you look just a few posts up you see that the park was originally closed for a Health Fair.

I missed that. What kind of health fair would be hosted there?

I first figured it was because of 9/11 events, but then i second guessed it was because some big company rented the park out.

Given the sign at the pavillion I would have to say that Honda did plan on buying out the park on Saturday. The sign was welcoming the Honda Health and Wellness attendees. Not sure what Honda has to do with that but it looks to me like the discussed health fair was associated with Honda.

There were a number of Honda signs throughout the park Friday including the one at the pavillion.

Bryan Edwards said it was defiantly Honda. They didn't get enough interest throughout the company. So Cedar Point ended up offering the same ticket deal directly to the employees and opening the park to the public. While at the lunch for the Great Ohio Coaster Club, there was another pavilion of the Honda group. There was maybe 200 to 300 people. I'm sure most of them probably went on Saturday. But, Bryan said attendance was horrible this weekend. I know everything was a walk on all day Sunday. The longest wait I had all day was 20 minutes for a front seat on Dragster and about 20 minutes for a front seat on Maverick. Everything else was anywhere from Walk-on to 10 minutes (tops).

I would argue that the attendance was awesome this weekend. But then I have a different perspective than the park does. My fear is that in the future if someone does not buy them out they will not be open the weekend between Labor Day and Halloweekends.

Yeah, it was great for people who were there. Not necessarily good for the "bottom line" though. I didn't think to ask Bryan if he felt it was worth having the park open this past weekend despite the attendance.

It was fun this weekend! I hope that they don't close it for that weekend next year! I know there were many people enjoying all of the rides!

I hope not too! This last weekend is something I really look forward to. I know the park was only open on Sunday of this weekend last year and it was awesome, so I had already been looking forward to Sunday. Then, when I found out the park was going to be open all weekend I was beyond excited, even left work early so I could enjoy the full evening Friday and it was the best!

The "in between" weekends at parks are always great for power riding and just have a specialness to them, something you don't get the rest of the season.
