Why are the cranes still there?

They finished the tower over a week ago, so why don't they move the cranes out so they can fill in the gap in the track? Is there something else they need to do that I don't know about?

They need to finish the elevator, pull through, and any other stuff that belongs at a somewhat high height.

The elevator, bolt check, adjustments, pull-through, etc.

They will have to move the cranes out of the Infeild of the ride. To close up the circuit.

Don't they do the pull through after the track is complete. They would need to move the crane outside of the oval.

The pull-through is completed by a winch and cable setup. This being the case, I'm sure a pull-through could be completed on only the necessary sections of track (ie: the tophat). They really don't need to conduct a pull-through on the launch and brake runs. ;)

Good for you! :-) Actually, I don't recall your response to me. It must have been in that ever so informative topic that I started. It disappeared before I got a chance to read your reply. Sorry, but I don't have time to sit in front of my computer that long.

Except for clearance issues (which there shouldn't be much with #16 except near the twists) what other purpose is a pull-through used for?

Um, no, it's all about clearance and making sure the tolerances between the wheels and track are all good. Steel doesn't "break in."

Why is this thread still here?

If they continue with the furious - and justified - closing of the silly topics (this one is borderline), we wouldn't have anything left open on page one, so they have to keep these borderline topics open :)

It's almost fascinating watching the antics of Jake Himself/cfsmi123, worked42/43/44/41days and CPNut/Chris Sawyer/Roller Coaster/Big Cedar Point Fan (did I miss one?).

Ok this has to do with cranes so I figured I would put this here. Since CP builds new rides every few years and most of them tower at a fairly tall height, why wouldn't CP jus purchase a crain instead of renting one all the time. OR would it be a lot more money than renting one every year or so? Just a thought.

The difference in cost between renting a crane and owning a crane is astronomical I'm sure.
