Who's holding on their 1st ride?

Gotta be HANDS UP! All the way!!!! I'm one of those people who make so much dang noise on the rides you think I'm nuts. Always hands up. Except Raptor because the harness will beat the crap outta me if I do. Besides, it's pretty hard to put your hands up in the harnesses anyway. *** This post was edited by RockDown2G on 1/18/00. ***
You all have fun w/ your hands up! It is going to be terrifying enough going up 310 ft. let alone holging my hands up! Eventually YES but that first ride is going to be crazy enough w/out my hands up!

My 9 year old daughter says HANDS UP!! Her mother says, NO WAY!! Then my 9 year old daughter replies "It dont matter what you want mom!" LOL

The more you ride it, the more you want it!
That is really stupid and dumb because he could
have fallen out
I'll be holding on.....at least for that first drop! Once I've been through the first drop, this may change. I will go "hands up" on rides with a lap bar only, once I know the layout, but not on rides with OTSRs (to save my neck and shoulders from abuse)!

******* First lap on MF - May 21st *******
My first ride of the season I got front row and I had my hands up the whole way. My first ride last season on AAA day I had my hands up also.

I tell ya, I've never ridden withOUT my hands up! I'll never forget the first time last season in line, when that train came roaring past the queue, thru the overbank, and into the breaks and every person on the ride had their hands up. And I saw this on the next few trains to go by. Finally, on about the fourth train I saw one person had their hands down. I knew I had to have 'em up the whole ride, and I have yet to ride with 'em down! :)

I'm with you ucsigep! Always have and always will. I love how every single person in the train has their hands up. My mom said she wasn't going to put her hands up, but I told her that I know she will. I guess we'll just have to see...:)
I have tried keeping the lap bar up on coasters before (such as on Racer and I could've stood up, the opps don't even push down on it). The only problem is that those g-forces will slam it down into you when your not in a postion ready for it. But I guess for the first drop it would work.

Crady Crady!! CRADY CRADY!! *** This post was edited by force312 on 5/17/2001. ***
I don't think I have lasted a second on MF with my hands down. ALWAYS UP! Unless you are REALLY holding on, it is hard to resist putting them up. On OD, we tried to rest our arms over the 3rd hill (over the lagoon), and they naturally went up with the airtime.

Even people like my friend, who was completely freaked out about riding MF and literally had the chills going up the lift, fall victim to the hands up.

Steuks!
Keeping your hands up makes it a MUCH better ride. I had to hold mine down last year for a photo shoot and it made the ride seem a tad less thrilling, especially on the first hill. My three rides so far this year have all been hands up.
AAA Day,back seat, no hands. WHAT A RUSH!!!
There were a few rides I held on,but that was for the Discovery Shoot. It felt so weird riding and holding on!!

We bought a lifetime supply of pudding? How wasted were we last night?!
*Dude, Where's my car?*
Just got back from Cp where I took my first MF ride, I am a hands up girl...they go up and stay up until the bitter end.
However, My first ride on MF left me so dumbstruck that I actually forgot. I hate heights so badly that I grip the bars with total fear on the way up any coaster hill untill I reach the crest then I know I am okay,,,anyhoo,,I found my self doing deepbreathing exercizes on the way up MF and by the time we reached the crest of the hill I was about panicked then I got a glimpse down that track and I could't believe my eyes! MY hands stayed put out of shock I think. I wasn't able to put them up till well after the second banked turn...the shock wore off alittle! In short....MF is just down right amazing,,hands up or down. I say just let nature take it's course and go with the flow!
I had em up the whole way last year and on May 29 I'll be puttin' up all the way again wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!;)

7 more days!!!!!!!!!
I think given the opportunity, I'd have to pass on the Discovery shoot. They'd eventually throw me off for keeping my hands up anyway! LOL

Hey guys, I'm back!
I was determined from July '99 to keep my hands up on the first ride. I almost wasn't able to, but I did and had a blast. Hey, has anyone tried closing their eyes the entire ride? I have tried it once, and it was weird, but fun.

When I went opening day last year, it was my first time riding any big coasters. I brought 3 friends with me that have been on all the big rides perviously. Well, we all ended holding on. It was the last thing we rode and at night, a perfect way to end my 2nd trip ever to Cedar Point and actually riding the big rides (except Power Tower). My friend, Heather, who was willing to pay me $40 to go on Mantis back in 1998 with me refusing (yes dumb then, but I was in 8th grade and a chicken :)) had her eyes closed the whole time on Millennium Force. I couldn't help laughing and teasing her about that. Her eyes stay open now and our hands are up. :)
