Who will ride with hands up?

Hands down for me.. except in the top hat... I have an insane fear of losing my hands on some rides.. I'm 6'2"... is this fear justified? On CP coasters usually I'm not worried (though a few points on MF get me every time.. maybe Mean Streak like when there is wood all around you.. and basically any tunnells..).. but on the Beast at PKI I _REALLY_ wonder how close I am to touching something during the tunnells...
I'm 6'3 and I'd say from experince that you have nothing to worry about.

Wait a minute, I'll have my hands up...so forget what I just said, with the exception of the face part.

My favorite quote to my four year old son as I am fastening him into his car seat is "Hands up, like on the rollercoaster" Bet you can guess which category I will be falling in... Will probably only stretch them in front of me for the launch though, since I have seen so may people do that for Wicked Twister, should reduce some arm/shoulder pain. I can't wait for tomorrow am.

There you have it, folks. Listen to the pros!

Gregleg: my family has a name for the "rag doll" style. We call it "going floaty" (I know it sounds silly). It's the only way to ride a B & M inverted. If you can, keep your face absolutley loose on Raptor's helix, you'll get an incredibly funny on-ride picture. It'll pull your lower lip below your chin.

Without upstops, airtime would have a whole new meaning!

Well i will have my hands up on this beast! the only ride i don't put my hands up on is Mean Streak, and the inverted coasters. i hold on during mean streak cause it is kinda rough, and on the inverted coasters they are more out to the sides then up. so yeah this will be a hands up forsure ride.

Besides the great rides and being the best of everything, the best part about Cedar Point is that it isn't Six Flags! YAY!

I might go "rodeo style" (i.e. one hand holding on, the other one in the air) for the launch, but as soon as the train hits the apex of this beast, the hands will be flung into the air! TOMORROW MORNING, THAT IS!!!!!!!!! WOOHOO!!! A LITTLE LESS THEN 24 HOURS LEFT!!!!

Hands up! Although I would appreciate some pointers on how to do this comfortably during a launch.

Instead of holding your hands straight up, hold them in front of you, slightly upwards. That way, the launch throws them up instead of back.

Richard, what'd you do?

Thanks GregLeg1, that's exactly what I wanted to know. It sounds like the pose I see some people use for WT's launch. I'm really getting excited thinking about tomorrow morning.

"Launch that sucker...Yeah!"

I've held my hands up for every roller coaster I've been on (even power tower, but that's out instead of up), except Mean Streak-ouch. I try to hold em up on Mean Streak but end up holding on to stop from banging around. I'm 6'3" and haven't had any problems holding them straight up on any ride. Well, the bridge on Mine Ride is pretty close but what have you got to prove holding your hands up on that one. We like to scream real loud when you hang over the top of the hill, then it goes down like 5 feet.

The Fast and the Fearless

For the first ride, my hands will definately be up. Up and covering my face that is. As for the second ride, heck what second ride. It will take everything I got to get on it the first time. Remember I am an older person (46) who hasen't rode to many coasters. I'm just going because my 17 yo wants to ride it. But who knows. I probably will love it.

Hey Starcraft Dad, I'm 43 and looking forward to riding it!

Don't call yourself "an older person" yet, heck I'm right behind ya.

I'll probably take "launch hands" position with them straight forward in front of me on the launch. Then up the rest of the ride.

I rode the ride yesterday with my hands up from launch to brake run. What an incredible ride!

Honest truth told to me by marina gate readmissions host:

Host: Hand stamped, two cents.

Me: That's cool, I think I have two cents.

Host: I better not take it, by the time you leave here its all you'll have.

When I rode yesterday my hands went up immediately as soon as the launch started and were up for the entire ride! It was awesome!
