Who has ridden WT recently?

I am just asking because on Saturday, they were still messing around with the riders when the launch them off, but yesterday, as I rode it two or three times a day throughout the day, all the different operators always gave us a full consistent countdown/launch, it was like the lights on TTD, but I didn't like it as much on Wicked Twister.

Life has it's ups and downs, might as well make it on a coaster!

Didn't have the chance today, it was down the whole day.

I was at CP today, and was very dissappointed that WT was down all day today...it's one of my favorite rides! Was it due to the wind? It was quite windy all day.
Wicked Twister doesn't go down for wind, as that we can't rollback :)

As for ride ops messing w/ the countdown.. it just all depends on who you get there in the booth.

I remember they were giving us a countdown at the begining of the year.
keyone - WT did open on Friday (06/20) late in the evening like around 8:30 / 9pm. I know for sure because we made it our last ride of the night and got in line about 9:45pm with a 20 minute wait.

Once one of our ride ops said "Launching in 3.....1! " and then launched us... No 2.... That was awesome.
My operator said you will be launching in T- 3,2,1, then ZOOM (for lack of a better word) we flew out of the station!
Yeah, I rode WT on May 17th, and the operator gave us a full countdown. It was soooo windy that day! I hate how it's on the beach, so that when the wind is blowing really hard, the grains of sand fly up and hurt you!! Has anyone else noticed that?

I was at CP this past Thursday (6/26) and rode the WT 5 times and had no problem with the ride operators messing around with the countdown. They all just said the basic "launch in 3 2 1" but of course none of them sounded to thrilled to be saying it or working. But there was one ride operator working in the evening that seemed to be really enjoying her day at work. When she did the countdown she sounded into it, like she was having fun, not to mention she was very good looking. Not really sure what her name was but she was a taller blondish brown haired girl. If you want someone who doesn't mess around with the countdown but still has fun saying it, ride when she is working.
i rode it this past friday, the countdown was quick and not always the same kind of like 3..2..1 go. or 3..2..1..... go.

Have to agree with WickedTwisterIsFun. Some of those ride ops do NOT sound thrilled to be there. Yes, I can see how saying "clear, launching in 3, 2, 1" can get extremely tedious, but it shouldn't show in how it's said. Most of those guests are there once for the year, and hearing a depressing launch countdown is not good PR.

Wicked Twister went down for wind, wind speeds were 60-70 mph, a lot of roller coasters were down...MF and TTD (TTD because of the other issues)

Yes, I also have noticed this, I was there when it was really windy right after it had been raining, and it was still blowing the wet sand all the way up into the station. Then our train got stuck, luckily we were in the back and ended up behind the wall so we had something to block it, I feel bad for the people riding front when that happened.

i really couldnt agree more with TekGuy. its so obvious that some of those ride ops dont want to be there. But you still have to give so respect for the people who WANT to be there. I think that most of the people who want to be there are the people on Raptor MF and Mantis. But for some reason the people at WT never seem to b "peppy"....i cant figure it out....
Ive been on it. Like i said in other threads, really havent noticed anything different about it this year, except the supports and how high it climbs on the towers now.
I rode 3 times on Tues. (7/8) and every time the ride ops were fine. Actually the guy in the evening was very funny. I've ridden at least 20 times this season and never encountered any ops that were rude. Maybe a little monotone in their countdown but who cares - it doesn't affect the ride one bit.
when i went the ride op said 3..2..then we launched. it was kind of funny. i liked the surprise. it was like riding it for the first time all over again. i never really noticed the twists too much, but when i went there it was crazy.

I rode the Wicked Twister on the 23rd and the 27th of June and everything was fine then. The ride ops counted down from 3 and then we were off.
