The ride usually recovers from a rollback in about five minutes. They pull the brakes down, let the train roll back faster, then they put them back up. They do that a few times until the train is in the launch position. Sometimes they'll pull you into the pre-stage/transfer track area to reset the launch block.
What's really cool is seeing the train directly in front of you, while you're in the pre-stage, roll back. It seems like it will crash into your train until the brakes really kick in. It flies through them fast at first, then it really slows down.
Rollbacks are awesome, though. I don't mind waiting to come back to the launch track. The guests waiting and watching from the bleachers and sidelines start talking to you.
Like the said before, rollbacks usually occur after a breakdown. The first shot of the day (empty, test run) is always a rollback.

Our rollback did not occur after a breakdown, it was the first launch of the day with a full load of people in it. And the word "awesome" is no way to describe a rollback while in the front seat, imo.
It is awesome but much more than that. Probably one of the best things that I have ever experienced in my life. I still have that vision running through my head after a couple of days now, remembering how sweet it was.
