who has been on a rollback?

I am goin to CP in a week and I am dieing to get a rollback I was wondering who has been on one and how often do they happen.

I heard that If the whole train put their hands up then there will be a rollback. Is this true or urban legend.

Urban legend. Ok, now for your other questions. Well, rollbacks are a common occurance, on some days more common than others. Sometimes it will only roll back a few times in a day, other times there will be massive amounts of them, it has been reported of more than 20 a day, I've never seen this but I'm not at the park every day and when I am, I'm not watching dragster all day. So don't get your hopes up for getting a rollback, if you do consider it a blessing, I've been privilaged enough to have a rollback, and I must say, it's awesome, thats understating it, but its awesome. hope that helps.

Arms down.....Arms down.....Arms down.......Arms down.....Arms down....Arms down...(you think they would get it the first time?!)

i have been on one...you never know when it will happen, normally right after a breakdown is the greatest probability for one...but normally its luck of the draw

TTD=11(frontseat=3)double digits baby!!!
rollbacks seen=10...3 almost stopped at top
rollbacks that i have been on=1

I have not been on one. However, I have seen 9 or 10 with riders. I'm still hoping to get lucky

How often do they happen? Let's just say your chances are slim at best

common, you have to admit it'd be fun to be on a rollback("way fun!")

Do they launch you again if you get a roll back?

Yes they will launch you again

Maybe you would rather wait another 2 hours in line before you got a second launch up the hill

um, Ive seen it take maybe 5mins to reset the system and send riders back up and over...

and I have seen many rollbacks, theyre exciting to watch just because the train never makes it about halfway up and falls back, oh no. They almost always make it to/over the crest, then just slow and stop real quick and drop back... pretty funny stuff to watch the people who dont know what to expect start freaking out. Good rush nonetheless. GL with it :)

I have seen very fast "RESETS" as well. Sometime it depends on the train count. if it is 5 train operation one train (every fifth) is placed in launch position alone. the others have a train right behind them. so if it is that one train alone and it rolls back I have seen them reset that one in less than 5 minutes as they can bring it back without moving any other trains. so when they do get to 6 trains and a lot of rollbacks occur. it may be really slow. it really depends on where the other trains are on the blocking system.. I have made 14 trips to the park so far and not a rollback yet. Maybe tonight though?

TTD rides =11.
occupied train rollbacks seen =23. Balanced at the top for more than a few seconds seen=6

first time ever to CP,in line for TTD,long time then there i was in the train, it was 7/29/03 at 11:15am off we go to the top, but we started to slow do,long before the top, back we go, that was more fun then going over the top, hope they get the ride fixed but let it roll back every once in while that would be a great ride.

I haven't been on one, but I've seen quite a few of them. Jeff is right in saying that it takes about 10 minutes to reset. I have only seen it faster once or twice out of about the 30(ish) rollbacks I've witnessed.

I was there on the 30th and there were several rollbacks after the ride was closed all day until @4PM.

It was only taking them a couple of minutes to get the train back to launch again. Only a couple times they brought it all the way back into the station and pulled it out again. I watched that for maybe an hour.

Then they opened it and we were barely making it over the top... I was chanting for a rollback. didn't happen. bummer

On Friday, the 1st, after some storms moved through the CP area, there were numerous roll backs. The first, which was probably the most predictable, was the first empty train launched. Then about two or three trains later, another rollback, but this time with riders. There was even a stretch that about 4 out of 6 trains launched rolled back. I was extremetly jealous of one train...back to back rollbacks--THREE LAUNCHES. The ride did finally open for the remainder of the evening and I finally got my first front seat ride.

I think that it should be part of the ride becuz like real dragsters they burn out first and go forward a then back up and then race.Anyone think the samething? The only bad thing is the wait would be longer!

I've been on one. It was right after the storm on August 1. It was reeeeeally neat and it felt so out of control.
I was on a rollback during a commercial shoot for dragster. It was just employees only on the train, but it was fun and you didn't have to wait at all. Excellent memory of my season working at cp.
