Imagine taking your two innocent children to Cedar Point on Father's Day weekend, Thinking that you are going to spend some quality time and make some great memories....Then when you get to the park, you are confronted with what I could only say is the most disgusting activity I have seen. I saw 2 young men HOLDING HANDS!!! I had to shield my children's eyes. I DO not want them to see that. That has no buisness in a family environment. Then we see a bunch more male couples together at the park. I overheard one of the guests say that this was "GAY DAYS". I Was SHOCKED!!
How dare Cedar Point sponcer such an event. It is innappropriate.
I want to know who I need to talk to to prevent this.
God Bless and thank you.
Would it have been any different if it were a man and woman holding hands? Feel free to contact Cedar Point directly, but I am pretty confident you may get a response about the park being a place for all people of all nationalities, races regardless of their sexual preference are welcome to visit and have fun.
So you saw two guys holding hands back in June, and you just now, in Janurary, found a website where you can ask how to complain to Cedar Point about it?
Ya right!
Oh and to top it off, it's your first post! Well done young man!
Really who cares. Welcome to the real world it happens, get over it. You make it sound like they assaulted you. Should we make a stink about a a man holding hands with his son? If this happened back on father's day why make a big deal about it now? This is the land of the free home of the brave, gay people and straight people are allowed to have fun. They werent breaking any laws, so leave them alone. There are more important things to worry about than this.
Shoot the rapids, tame and dry. Thunder Canyon, wet and laughter. Snake River Falls, soaked and smiling. White Water Landing and the old shoot the rapids, Fun and missed.
If you see two men holding hands on the street who are you going to call to complain to?
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

He's just tyrying to stirr up the whole Gay Days thing! Happens on Disney websites all the time.......Sad!

Not to mention Cedar Point does not SPONSOR the event. Actually, its not even an "event".
Being that you are a "family man", maybe you would be more interested in going to this park:
Maybe you can meet up with the Duggers? I am sure they will have season passes.

So is "STRAIGHT DAY" okay? I didn't know Cedar Point was a religious constitution.
Grow Up.

I think you need to watch a very important movie on Lifetime tonight called "Prayers for Bobby". Perhaps then you'll understand that the world is filled with many kinds of people... not just biggoted, ignorant and homophobic ones...
Did you see any gratuitous public sexual acts? Did you suffer any harrasment from Homosexual attendees? Did you get violated in any way? I think the answer is "NO" to all of these.
What is your definition of a Family environment? I know several Gay and Lesbian couples that have children (both adopted and conceived) and those kids are better adjusted and loved than some children from "traditional" straight families that I've met.
Get over your own ignorance and face reality dude. The world is going to be full of things you don't understand or agree with. Just because that is the case, does not give you a free pass to spread your own negativity on others. Everyone has a right to attend Cedar Point and as long as they follow posted park policies and I'm sure they will continue to attend on this day for many years to come.
PS, I hope you realize that a fair percentage of employees may be Gay/Lesbian/Bisexual/Transgendered. I would contain your remarks because your safety is entrusted in their hands whilst you are visiting the point.
As a straight male, i agree with all the responses to the original post. I
have also seen two males holding hands before at cedar point and i have
seen two females holding hands at kings island. There is nothing wrong
with this. Apparently the people care for each other. So just be
happy your at the park and have a great time. The show with the
duggar family(18 and growing) i do like the show. They seem to have
everything under control. Cousin amy is my favorite. She seems cool.

Gaybusters! ;) (Okay, so I tweaked his quote a tiny bit to make it work.)
Seriously, Afamilyman, you need to join the 21st century. Discrimination is totally out, dude.
As a fellow parent, I feel sorry for your children, knowing they will someday be forced to wake up and realize that they don't live in a 50's sitcom.
My author website: mgrantroberts.com.
I will make this simple statement: Cedar Point is for Everyone.
Its for the typical Family, like mine.
Its for couples, gay or straight.
Its for Senior Citizens, who come as a group on a bus.
Its for the College kid who can't wait for summers, Like me.
Its for the Newly Married Couple who is honeymooning there.
Its for everyone.
That is what Makes Cedar Point the best place ever.
^As another straight man, I will add this pearl of wisdom when it comes to public decency here is the standard I see from determining what is and what isnt acceptable: If I (as a straight white male) can do something or the equivalent in public at this location then its ok, if I cant it isnt.
Hand Holding at CP? Yup
Kissing? Yup
French Kissing while groaping? Nope
And before this veers too far off topic, the exception someone always raises: so females should be able to go topless at beaches, gyms, etc? I personally have no problem with that ;). And if said female might not be physically appealing, well that's unfortunate but not any more or less unfortunate then a physically unappealing male deciding to go shirtless. ;)
This is one of the oddest things I have ever heard. You are overreacting. You are reacting like they were kissing or Other inappropriate gestures. You are going to turn your children in to homophobes no offense intended, but its going to happen they did nothing wrong you can't complain....i'm sorry
Just had to bring that point up didn't ya Touchdown. :)
I've seen my fair share of gay and lesbian couples and I'm friends with a few people in the park who are in that category. The only advice I can give to you, family man, is to not go on fathers day. But no matter what you do, you're going to run into it.
Like Vince said, what happens when when you're at a restaurant or some other place and there's a gay or lesbian couple holding hands or rounding second base? You can't avoid it, it's going to happen no matter what you do. The only thing you can do is teach you're kids what it is and you views on it and they'll get it eventually.
It's better to teach them then to shield them from something as harmless as holding hands. I've always been taught to hate the sin and not the sinner so I would never judge a person just because they're gay or lesbian.......but that's just me.

Wow, you guys believe this guy is for real? Seriously? He joined today, and this is his only post. He's a troll. Leave him be.

Give me a break. If your offended by two guys holding hands you need to get a reality check. Its all around us every second, of every minute, of every hour, of every day, of every week, of every month, and of every year. So please SHIELD your kids eyes every moment to protect him from reality!

Dude, COME ON!!! That is not something cedar point either sponSers or can prevent. I do not like to see it myself but I am not God and I am not, according to the bible, supposed to judge someone else. If you are that big of a christian you should know that.
hahahahahhahhahahahahahah Yes, it has got to be a joke. OMG, they were holding hands?!? Ohhh, how terrible!!!!1!!11! You better shield your kids from seeing two men holding hands. I mean after all, that might effect them negatively. But I guess shielding them from a place we call the real world won't do them any harm, will it? Grow up guy.
"You wanna, you gotta, you hafta hold on, Cedar Point...HOLD ON!"
As someone who works for Cedar Point and someone who has been going since I was a little child, I can tell you Cedar Point does not sponser this event. It has travelled by word to go to CP on Fathers Day weekend and "Gay Day at Cedar Point". I am sorry you have a problem that and I understand your opinion, but if you haven't noticed the times are changing and Cedar Point is a park with paying guests. It's not like security would throw them out for showing such affection. Nothing will change if you complain about now, and nothing would of changed if you complained about it then.
