which rides hurt your head?

I've never understood the reports of horribly painful rides on Mean Streak. Sure, it's not a wonderful ride, especially with the trim on the first drop messing up the pacing for the rest of the ride. But I've had much worse rides on Gemini. The helix at the end has snapped my spine more than once, and the roughness at the bottom of some of the drops I've experienced sometimes has been worse than the worst jackhammering I've experienced on Mean Streak.

Coming out of the launch on Maverick where the train straightens out is a neck chopper moment. There are several moments on Maverick that, depending on your body type and how intense you prefer your rides, may cause you some moderate to intense discomfort.

The mine ride has quite a few jerky transition moments, especially the helix before the second lift.

The only really painful moment on Raptor is the very end as the brakes take hold. You might have some mild discomfort in the cobra roll, but I've had harsher moments on Wildfire's cobra roll.

Mantis has quite a few moments of headbang-y transitions, especially after the midcourse brake.

The airtime hills on Magnum cause the lapbar to dig into your mid-thighs. Some of us don't mind that. Others have a big problem with that.

Blue Streak is a relatively intense mid-sized woodie. If you liked Rebel Yell you should like Blue Streak.

You should give each ride at Cedar Point at least one go. They all have their own personalities and quirks.

Also, take 3-4 pain relievers, whichever you prefer. Usually after 5-6 coasters I would start to get a headache. On a recent trip I was not going to let it get me since we were there for three days. Just took 2 -4 in the morning and was able to ride rigorously all day!

The rides that hurt the most for me are Magnum (the airtime hills are killer on me), Mantis (I hadn't been on it in years and went a few weeks ago and my neck/head/ears were affected) and also the Maverick (same reason as Mantis). Maverick is the "main" ride at the park that I usually skip every time I visit.

I've never had a problem on Raptor. Mean Streak isn't as bad as it used to be. I actually had a blast on it last time on instead of worrying about how sore I was going to be after it.

I have never had any trouble with Raptor, no matter the seat. I know that it's 19 years old, but it's still pretty smooth. Corkscrew isn't worth a wait over 10 or 15 minutes, but if you sit near the front, it won't jostle you too much. Mantis will hurt your head if you're not near the front, especially if you have earrings on. It's a good rule of thumb to just not wear earrings at all if you plan on riding anything with a shoulder harness. Gatekeeper is also incredibly smooth.

Mantis gets me good, but I'm able to walk off that and just give me a bit of a walk to another ride, but is one of only three rides on point I can't marathon at all

Corkscrew, Power Tower, Magnum, & Monster/ Witches Wheel Crew 2011

I took my first trip to CP in June and I'm a head injury freak, so I was also concerned. I skipped Mantis and Mean Streak although I was interested after a bunch of research. You can decide for yourself but I didn't regret my decision. I can see how Maverick can mess ya up, but I did fine. I sat up straight, held on to my restraints and prayed hahaha and had a great time. My girlfriend didn't know what to expect and got tossed around. So o think its all about sitting up straight and strong. Its a crazy experience, but I'd your noggin says skip it then do. Had to miss Raptor (damn rain) but rode Milenium, Blue Streak, Gatekeeper, Magnum, and Gemini with zero issues. All extremly fun with MF and Gatekeeper being beyond smooth.
