The last time I was at CP I was thinking about which coaster train have the loud nouse. I thought Raptor had the loudest one. What do you people think?
Raptor is pretty loud, I think. I can't really think of a louder train. When Corkscrew goes over the midway and goes past that little metal screen thingy on the track it rattles and makes noise, but that's not the train.

Smoking Marijuana isn't a bad thing or even a good one, like everything else, its what you make of it.
Raptor has that roaring sound but Mean Streak has that rumble accompanied by the screeching. Some other loud ones are Dragster, when you're standing in the queing line next to the return track the whole ground shakes when it goes by, same with Millennium but their not so much loud as ground shaking.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
Raptor is pretty loud, however, my vote goes to Mantis. Even though you can't get too near the track unless you are waiting for someone to exit the ride or if you are waiting in line, it's pretty loud. When that car goes ripping over your head it can give anyone a headache. Mantis for sure.
Rest in Peace MrScott
my all time favourite coaster noise is when you're standing in line for millenium force and on the ramp up the the station, right along where the track runs. when the train comes by the ground shakes you its awesome because you're so close to the train as it goes by

My favorite sound would be Magnum going up the lift. Once I hear that I know that I'm at Cedar Point.

Dragster is pretty loud when it launches. You can hear it all over the park. It sounds like power surge or like power shutdown every time it aunches, its quiet, but I still hear it all the time in that park.
Power Tower can also be heard from a distance sometimes when it goes phufffshhhheeeee and lets all the air out the top.
My favorite though is as vince982 said standing in the mf line almost to the station. You can fell a little vibration and then you see the train pop out of the tunnel and hit the bunny hop followed by a gust of wind.
Wicked twister also makes a loud noise on its first launch. Im not sure what it is but its like skretching or something.
The dragster launch isnt the car making the noise. It's the bass from the sound effects that you cna hear all over the park. Anyway, I'd have to go with Mantis. If you're in the milennium force midway and the mantis is going through the first loop you can barely hear yourself talk.
What's funny to me me is that the benches right beside the first loop on Manits you can't talk to someone from the loud roar that the trian makes, one of my fav.
Mantis is by far the loudest in my book. Though the trains don't make coasters loud, it's the vibration on hallow steel track that creates the loud roar. I have to say that Mean Streak's trains create a lot of noise from the wheels squeeking and banging against the track. If you've ever stayed at Lighthouse Point or Sandcastle you'd know that TTD is the only ride you can hear, other than Mean Streak since it is close.
The bass of the sound effects on TTD is awesome. I was sitting by the Midway Carousel and I heard it.

If im thinking right then how is mf able to be heard from there? Mf is smooth as silk and as quiet as a... well something that doesent make a lot of noise. I didnt think mf made that much noise (except the brake run when it shakes and all the birds fly out).
You can hear the roar that MF makes from Lighthouse Point early in the morning, before the park opens. Maggies "clanks" can also be heard then and gennerally all the time, if the wind is right.
Tis wonderfull sounds an hour or two before you hit the gate!

I forgot about Magnum, but I never heard MF. Magnum's loud speakers on the lift hill are pretty loud and like MrScott said, the clanks can be heard too. It probably does have a lot to do with the direction of the wind.
