Where will the next big ride go

It's not going to be a floorless coaster...why build one when there is already one over by Cleveland?
Why would SFWOA want to build a hyper when there is one an hour away? Why would PKI build Top Gun while Cedar Point already had a suspended even after The Bat failed miserably? Why would Cedar Point build a summers/dinn woodie after Geauga Lake already had one? Seriously, you people think too hard! No wood! No TA2K! Bring on something with no floor! Is it just me, or am I the only one who thinks a floorless would look more appealing to the general public than a TA2K or woodie? I know some people here probably know more then I do, but please respect my opinion. I don’t know, maybe this is all just wishful thinking.

In my opinion, the next coaster will be built on and/or near the Millennium Island.

I swear, if I read something like, “duh they’re gonna build a stand-up wooden…...” I’m gonna lose it. It’s old people!!

a TA2K would generate way more crowds than a floorless coaster because people close to Cleveland may not want to travel further to ride basicly the same ride. A TA2K blows people away in magnificents and awe while a floorless isn't different...except for the trains (which only gives a cool ride in the front).
floorless is nothing really special, IMO. it's just another gimmick. woodies are classic - can't have too many. TA2K sounds truly unique.

Okay, everyone pretty much knows that next year will bring a good coaster. All I care is that it will not be named "Son of Magnum." :)

I'll second that bobthetomato, and for what type and where and how high how fast how much I'll just wait until Cedar Point decides to tell us. :)

A TA2K will have much more of a draw factor than a floorless. Just imagine.. "Cedar Point is giving you super intense trhills this summer with their new *insert ta2k name here*. It's the fastest roller coaster on the planet, shooting you to one hundred and ten miles per hour in 1.8 seconds."

or "Cedar Point has built a ride with loops, lots of em... and .. yeah.. it's got no floor"

Tell me they couldn't market a TA2K :P

It's very obvious that a Thrust Air would be easier to market, becuase they are so new, so fast, and seem to be very fun. While the Thrust Air talk is nice, I am stil hoping for a floorless :)

I just don't understand why they would follow up a TA2k after Millennium Force. Millennium Force was built mainly for speed. Why make a coaster 2 years later that goes faster? That's the way I see it. I just think it would be cool to get a floorless to shatter the inversion record because the park doesn't have a good sit down looper. And no, I don't think Raptor counts because it's an inverted and in a class of it's own. A floorless is just like a sitdown looper with a little added effect.

Good call Cornbread! That's what I've been saying! BTW, can a TA2K theoretically do inversions? (Dave?)
...only if you want OTSR's which is a bad thing.
I'm not saying that Cedar Point will build a floorless (in fact I don't think that they they will) but some people make way too big a deal out of what other parks in Ohio have. I don't think that Cedar Point (or any other Ohio parks) would avoid building a ride, just because one of the others already has the same type. If it is a good, marketable ride, then it is a good marketable ride. Most people don't plan to visit CP, SFWoA, and PKI all in the same year. As a matter of fact, I've never been to SF (except for the wild life half about twenty years ago when it was still Sea World), and I haven't been to PKI in more than ten years.

...and enjoy the rest of your day at Cedar Point, The Am-aaaa-zement park!
Does anyone have any info on whether or not something really is going on over on Millennium Island?

I would have asked in the other thread, but it was closed for good reason...
Natas alot of people go to both SFWoA and CP. I would think that people would think well isn't this kind of old technology Six Flags got one 3 years ago. The GP want new cutting edge thrill rides, which is why so many new prototypes and whatnot are coming out. So I do believe that what other Ohio parks have and are getting have an extreme effect on what Cedar Point gets.

I agree about the Oceana area being a ghost town. This is a prime area for new development. I would like to see this area redone. A beachfront boardwalk and a new world class woodie would create a little traffic in that area, don't you think? :)

Hey, I heard a good factual person talking about how what is being built in challenge park. A slingshot type deal, and it should be open in august. However, the question should not read what will be the next big ride, but instead the next 2 big rides possibly coasters for 2001....
Is there even enough room ?
