Where Is The Best Spot To View The Park Off Point?

I was there this past weekend. We got into Sandusky Thursday evening and went to that very spot at the Battery Park marina and it was an awesome view of the park! We went back with some Toft's ice cream after dark but my wife was too spooked to stick around and enjoy the nighttime view. Raptor is so loud you can hear it from this spot every time it goes through the cobra roll.

^Sorry that Mrs. Brendan was a bit spooked at Battery Park, but let her know that the Sandusky Police station is right next to the park. Probably as close as Skyride is long. I wonder how good of a view it is for Cedar Point fireworks displays. Anybody ever tried from there?

Well you would definitely be able to see them with a good skyline to boot so the view should be a good one.

If you think raptor is loud from that spot try being in the marina. They have to do something to those trains to make them so loud. Even corkscrew, when standing right underneath them isn't as loud.

I have watched the fireworks from the breakwall at Venitian marina, right off First st. from the causeway, it was pretty good from there. I would think that from Battery Park the angle would be slightly better.

Isn’t the B&M roar actually caused by the track? Something about vibrations echoing in the box spine or something like that? Aren’t the silent ones (GateKeeper, Hydra, maybe Talon come to mind) filled with sand? Maybe I’m imagining all that but I thought I read it somewhere.

I'd imagine the extra weight of filling the box spine with sand may add to the amount of supports needed when concept and design are being done.

So if a park orders a quiet model it'd be interesting to find out what the average increase in cost would be compared to a regular model.

That seems like a fairly innocuous question that may have been answered or could be asked at a Q&A.

I imagine it would also add to the shipping cost, assuming the extra weight means they'd be able to ship fewer sections per truck.

Though didn't Intamin "solve" this by adding sand on-site with Maverick?
