Where have you gone on your day off?

In 1993 and 94 a bunch of our crew went to Kings Island. Also in 1994 we went to Sea World a week after we went to KI. A couple of years I went to Geauga Lake and once a friend in my stand and I went to Conneaut Lake with a stop at Geneva-On-The-Lake.

last season I had a car and I usually went home on my day off for personal reasons but i did take the ESD trip to Kennywood amnd also went to SFWoA and the Ohio State Fair.
Also I drove around nearby towns on my time off.
Also I have made several trips to Cleveland to visit the Rock&Roll HOF and the Zoo.

As far as actual trips go... Last season, I took a random boat trip to Kelleys Island, which was super cool, although it rained all morning long! I wish I had had more than one day off in a row so that I could have stayed the night camping at the state park on the island. A friend of mine, my sister and I also travelled to two different Renaissance festivals during the summer: one in Fremont, OH, and the Silver Leaf festival in Kalamazoo, MI. My first season, I went on the ESD trip to Tower City and the Rock'n'Roll Hall of Fame, and my roommate, Becca, and I went on a road trip to the Toledo Zoo.

Most of the time though, my days off were spent travelling to the Sandusky Library, to Fifth-Third (I walked there from the mall last season because I didn't have a car, and didn't want a FirstStar account!), and most of all, being lazy and comfortable on the Cedar Point beach with a good book on the nice, warm sand (as I look outside and see snow falling right now, this seems sooo long ago!) I would usually cook something decent to eat for dinner also (usually some sort of tasty stir-fry) since I had the time. The key for my days off, usually, was to sleep in and then spend the day relaxing!!

Going to Cleveland to see Heart and Ian Hunter was a neat one. Its a pain in the butt though to get up the next day so this activity is not reccomended! The beach was always fun as it is really nice to watch the sunset in july/august!

This past season the only trips I made were to see OzzFest and then to see Aerosmith in Columbus. Redbrigade is right, its not fun having to get up for work the next day after some events. This summer I plan on making that trip to see Metallica, I can't wait for that one! Most of my days off though were either spent at the park/beach or drivning to near by towns to see the area:)

99er, I'm totally up for going to see Metallica! I just hope that they will have a date close to Cleveland, and set the dates before my processing time. I think that they are touring on 6 separate weekends with Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park.

The one cool place i went this summer would've been Cheese Haven. It's a little place in Port Clinton where they have a bunch of different cheeses and stuff like that, also a place to get some good wine or cheap off brand liquor. ;)
.....and i think i'd be interested in the whole concert thing so im me sometime n stuff...name is in this wonderful profile :)

Also, there is this Drive Inn movie theatre here right outside of Toledo that i have came back here to, easy for me since its an hour away and i worked there for 4 summers ;) But it would be a good idea to have the next day off because the movies dont usually end till about anywhere from 1-4 am depending on the time of summer, then you add on the hour or so drive back to Sandusky...makes for a long night :)

Yea just be careful driving home after the concerts and such! I had a policeman pull me over on my way back from cleveland...he said the only thing that saved my ass was the fact that he worked at cedar point as well! Needless to say I spent the rest of the summer really, really close to the point!
Why'd he pull you over? Were you speeding or something?

One of my fears is driving home from a concert and getting pulled over and having a cop smell weed on my clothes, because all of the ones I have been to, people smoke a lot of it. The most was at a Staind concert...imagine that.

speeding, changing lanes, pretending I was Richard Petty, not having a muffler, honestly that car was straight piped and louder than sin. It was a '74 Vega Wagon, bright orange, an absolute piece of crap. Oh yea I had been drinking just a tad..ooopppss. Kids just dont do it, or let someone else drive, or stop at a rest stop and sleep it off!!!

The two closest shoes to see Metallica are Columbus and Detroit. I'm leaning towards going to Columbus because it takes less time to get there. They are touring with Linkin Park and Limp Bizkit and are all billed to play full headlining sets. Tickets go on sale February 22nd, but the dates haven't been set yet. If you want to go, make certain that you are available to either call Ticketmaster or be on-line when they go on sale, because the last time they came around here they sold out in less than a half hour. That was like 3 years ago...so the demand will probably be much higher.

um..King's Island...Canada...Michigan...Kennywood...I took the "Naomi and Angela do 6 states in less than 24 hours" trip which included Southern Ohio, Kentucky, Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Maryland...Michigan's Adventure...and a lot of other places that have a lot of odd yet funny stores attached that I will spare you of:)

Naomi,

It's charming to see you around here. I will send you an email sometime!

Everyone else,

I always went to Toledo and stayed with my best friend, Kelly, and my boyfriend. We had fantastic times and, as those close to me know, we had some odious, loathsome times too. Such is what happens when you try to force having fun in a single day--contrived, unpredictable lunacy. (Paradoxical, to be sure.)

I hate fun. I KILL fun.

Hi Brent:) I miss you! You better be taking care of yourself:)
