The only bad thing is that there's going to be a small permanent building in the midway now that houses the controls and pumps.

My guess would be either the Custard stand or Sketch stand will go away for the pumps building.
Neither will go away.... After all the ball fountain had a pumping facility.... Located behind the food stands and roughly around the location of the first Raptor loop and the pumps exposed to open air. My guess will be that the same area still utilized and a small enclosure built which will have to take into account any necessary clearances needed for Raptor. I doubt much extra space will be needed as a computer as simple as your desktop is likely all that will be needed to control the music and effects synchronization and a few valve controllers.... I don't know much about fountains or this system, but it seems to be be a small basic footprint utilizing a couple of extra feet in addition to the already existing water pumps...
Just your usual come and go poster. One week I am here, then I disappear for a while.
The thing is, if they were to move the ball fountain, where would it fit in? It kinda doesn't match any else besides the main midway.
The pump building in Venice is enclosed, about 10' by 6' the building is. Doesn't need to be very big.
These fountains can range from being to only a few inches off the ground to a good 12 feet up in the air. The fountain are very customizable. Venice went through several designs before coming up with the final arrangement. (Grandfather is on the City Board. Got to see the plans :) )

After watching the video, it actually looks really cool. That water goes pretty high though. Let's hope it doesn't hit the Sky Ride cars. lol
It would never reach because SkyRide sits nearly 90 feet above the midway. Those jets at best would be no more that 20 feet tall.

I personally would love to see it relocated to fill the giant void in the midway by Coasters restaurant... it would fit nicely there.

I am bummed about them removing the fountain! I love to take a picture of my kids by it every year! I used to do that at Geauga Lake too and now its gone! I am for the new fountain, but why don't they put ot in the kiddie area? It would be nice to have several different ones in the park! Just a thought!

dj, sounds great. It's about time CP dipped its toe back into dark rides. They could use Halloween Productions, the company that built Ghostwood Estate at Kennywood. That would be a delightful way to reinvigorate that area of the park. If they ever did something like that, I would probably just power-run back and forth from BS to the dark ride all day long.
P.S. I knew you were referring to the old Pirate Ride, though when I re-read my post it wasn't clear.

Even my very own municipality of Cuyahoga Falls has a seasonal fountain area like that.
I, also, live in Cuyahoga Falls, but this fountain does not have heavy traffic of kids running through it all the time. The most you you'd see is maybe 10 kids on a hot day running through it or maybe a little more if there is Rockin' on the River going on downtown.
I agree with Ralph, I can't see CP maintaining the fountain for very long.
