when is the best time to go to cedar point???

My wife & I prefer to go in Early to mid May. When you go that early in the season, the park is pretty empty. Last year we rode MF 5-6 time, with a maximum wait time of 25 minutes. We got right onto Magnum & had a 15 minute wait for WT. We rode everything we wanted & actually left just before the park closed at 8PM. Make sure you go during the week though & not the weekends. It's the slowest due to the fact that school is still in session. I also hear, just before Labor Day is a good time to go, but, can't confirm that.

Brian: Not a bad idea. However, this will be my first child so you see my dilema. But I will file that ploy away in my memory for the years to come ;)

Opening day, weekdays in May/June and Memorial Day Weekend (even on Saturday) are all great times to go. The last week that CP is open during the week (end of August) is great (especially Tues-Thurs), as well as any Sunday in September or October. If you are like me and have to go in July and August as well then stay away from weekends, especially Saturday.
Weekdays. :-)

The best time to go to Cedar Point is while it's open. There, I've got that out of my system. I've always had the best luck on Mondays in May. The Tuesday after Memorial day has been good also. I remember once, when it seemed that my wife and I were the only customers in the park. No waits for anything.
it usually depends.....sometimes even a tuesday can be busy. though i think this year we are gonna break records. i think the dragster is gonna bring them in this year. i know we are gonna break records. so pull up skirts gents this summer it is gonna be a bumpy ride!

p.s.,

i think some of the best days to come are on july 4th(i have been sent home early every year on july 4th) fathers day(because alot of the homophopes get scared because homo's come out, oh my)

You're right Scott Cameron. This year I went August 23, there were nolines. MF 20min. Rapter walk-on Magnum 5 min. Mantis 15min. Everything else walk-on.
I always had luck going on Labor Day. I was really surprised, I thought for sure it would be crowded, but it wasn't. Not sure when I'll be making it this year, as I live in Texas now, but I'll be there sometime, you can count on that.
DO NOT GO ON OPENING DAY! I repeat, DO NOT GO ON OPENING DAY!

Yea, Top Thrill Dragester, don't go opening day...you are so right;)...We want the park to ourselves...

Opening Day WILL NOT BE ONE OF THE TOP TEN or even TOP TWENTY FIVE busiest days of the season...

GO OPENING DAY IF YOU ARE IN THE AREA!!!!

Last year I found Labor Day and July 4th to be the absolute worst days to go. I think I only rode 4 or 5 things each of those days because I didn't feel like waiting 2 hours for Magnum or any other ride.

There hasn't been a two hour wait for Magnum in at least two seasons. Do you have any clue what a two hour wait for Magnum looks like? Full regular queues, full long queues (behing the bathroom), and a line on the midway to Hats & Such can be eaten up in 1:15-1:30. A two hour line would be probably back somewhere in the Super Himilaya area! :)

Labor Day wasn't that bad. The day before was the busiest day I was at the park this season and Magnum had nearly full regular queues which is about a 45 minute wait.

I had no waits on any ride except for millie when i went on a sunday in Halloweekends
Sundays are good days to go to the Po!nt. All of the rides were walk on but Millennium Force and Wicked Twister were about an hour.
Wicked Twister an hour? I've ridden it 10 times (well, ok, 9 1/2 because it broke down on the 10th) and one of the times was 1/2 an hour and the other 9 (well, ok, 8 1/2) were walk-ons! And I rode it twice on opening day and 4 times (well, ok, 3 1/2) on closing day!

Sundays during September/October last year were great! I got more rides in a half-day then than during a full day during the rest of the season.

But Lo! What's this I see, walk-on at the Raptor? It took me about an hour and a half before I moved on to look at the rest of the park :)

Thanks , this has really helped me plan my trip

Are there big crowds on memorial day weekend? If so, which two days would be better, Saturday and Sunday, or Sunday and Monday? Also, in that guide Cedar Point sends out every year, are there coupons for discounts to Cedar Point resorts? Thanks.

nkcomp, I visited last year on Memorial weekend Saturday and the longest we waited was 25 min for Millenium Force, everything else was a walk-on. The weather wasn't too good that day though. I have heard from other people on this site that Memorial weekend can be very busy when the weather is nice, however.
