*sigh*

No one here can predict lines. However, they are usually shorter in May/June and then again in Sept. Tues.-Thursdays are usually shorter too.

July and Aug. is busy. That's about the best you can expect.

Early May is the best. Halloweekends are pretty good, too.

opening week isn't too bad.....
When it's open...sorry, I had to say it. Tuesday-Thursdays during June are rarely longer than 1 hour waits on MF.

I can tell you the worst days to go. Opening day, because its obvious everyone on this forum will go on opening day. Weekends, duh! My best suggestion is to go on Monday.
Monday is no good. Monday's and Friday's should be avoided because people can make 3-4 day weekends out of those.

Edit: Of course, a Monday is better than no day at all. Just go and don't worry about the crowds.

That's good to hear... My brother-in-law has a friend that has worked at CP for many, many years and he told me NOT to go opening day - cuz he said it was gonna be CRAZY!!!
Do you still think it won't be too bad - even with the new ride and all??

Opening day was quite busy last year. The weather was almost perfect.
"quite busy" is a relative term...Opening Day EVEN WITH A NEW COASTER is not as busy as the Saturdays in July and August or even some of the weekdays during those months...IT APPEARS BUSY on Opening Day because not all food stands etc. are running at FULL STAFF. Even Rides are not necessarily running at FULL CAPACITY. ( ie. 6 trains on Gemini, all the boats on WWL).

Opening Day is a GREAT time to go to CP to shake off the rust from the off season...

See you on the Midway!

Mondays = :( I have been there on a few Mondays because I figured after the weekend rushes it would be dead... unfortunately, quite the opposite. It was pretty mobbed.

Cedar Point is closed for the season. Reason? Freezin!

Yes, Mondays and Fridays are bad. Of course weekends suck for lines. Mid-week early May is the time I make my first trip. However, with tears in my eyes for many reasons, my wife is due to give birth in May so no point for me until August this year. Maybe I'll name my kid TTD ;) .
Time to get out the Magic 8 Ball...

Winston: if this is not your first child, you may find that taking the older ones out of the house for the day will be appreciated. Taking the kids leads to a much different, though by no means less enjoyable, day at the Point than going with a bunch of coaster nuts.
Pointman what are you talking about? I was there opening day and the place was empty! we waited 45 mins for MF, and everything else was a walk on! It was so non crowded that we left at 4 becasue we had done everything at least twice.
I don't know what you guys are talking about. Monday is the least crowded day...for me at least. Maybe I just come at the perfect time.

You really cannot predict the crowds of CP. I think you should just trust your instincts.

But there is one positive on big crowds: You know that CP is very successful and making money. SFWoA didn't do well last year. When I went there, crowds were medium to small. Barely any waits in line. But I still like both parks.

It is TOO EARLY in the year for my annual lecture about crowd levels. Suffice it to say it has been "proven" to be correct. While there is NO WAY to predict the crowd levels on fill-in-the-blank date, using the OTT Theorem you will find success in predicting the crowd level.

Please watch this space for the Annual posting of the Theorem...You'll be glad you did!

I still like Duane's formula from two years ago that took into consideration temps.. amount of lemon chills sold the year before on that day.. etc..
