^ you agree to a small extent? Are you saying you'd have a problem with someone who left the line and returned a minute later because they went to request a song?

From a guest perspective:
I don't mind if they're trying to get back up with their friends/family as long as it wasn't planned. Or if they were dying to go to the bathroom or had to get a drink (though CP says no). But I do care when people are cutting just to get to the ride before everyone else or if it's a large group. Tell them no, and should they listen, good. If they don't listen, report them to a ride operator and they'll likely get them kicked off their ride if it is not too late.
From an employee perspective:
If I'm told there is line jumpers, they're out of my ride. The end.

Me and my sister were at Dorney park at night in line for Hangtime the top spin splash...whatever it's called, and the park was very empty that night. It was just me, sis, and a few other people ahead of us. A little african american boy stood just in front of us and turned around to give a whistle to the midway. Just then, I would say it was his whole family reunion or something, all these people got in line, about 20 of them, and said excuse me to us and they all formed a line while we got moved to the back of line. I was not upset, because we all got on the same ride cycle and had a good time. Besides, they were not the type of people you'd want to mess with anyway....:)
I think he/she meant "People of color". Especially lots of "them".
Promoter of fog.
Okay lets get off this topic and to the one in the title.
I was thinking about line cutting even more and I remembered this time when me and my friend were in line for MF and it started to rain(not hard but enough to stop the ride to cycle) well we were a queqe away from the ramp when we all stopped. A group in front of us stopped under the sunshade thing. Well the ride started to cycle about 5 times and the line on the ramp started clearing because half the people left but the group still wouldn't move from the shade. Soon a group of maybe 25 or so people come up from the back of the line through the dirt. The group still didn't move and then they reopened the ride in a mist and they still didn't move. I seen that another group was coming up through the dirt so me and my friend decided to go infront of the group. This group got really mad at us and the other 10 people that went from behind us, but they obviousely didn't care that over 30 people came from the back of the line to infront of them. Soon the CPPD showed up and pulled the 25 people out of line, but then the cops started coming for the 10 or so people from behind us. We didnt get caught, but I think if I explained they would have let me stay and I would have happily went back to behind the group.

Actually I've never really seen any line jumpers. Then again I don't ride the aggressive rides like MF or TTD. There might be a kid or two catching up to thier parents on some of the rides, it's a bit annoying, but I guess I'd rather see that then the parent deal with a lost child.
If I go with a group of people, I stay with the group, unless there is something I don't want to ride, then I just wait for them to get off of it.
I agree that getting a drink from a fountain or a machine (that's in the queue) while in line and then rejoining your group is not a problem.
Once, while waiting in a long line for the Hulk at IOA in Florida with a friend's son, we were passed by what seemed a constant parade of teenagers. It was a senior day for some of the local schools, and a small group far up in line had seen their friends just getting into line and called for them to join them. Not thinking twice, they all started to make their way to the front. Needless to say, the rest of us didn't take it kindly. We informed the ride operators who confronted the group when they were next to ride. They were asked to leave, but refused. The operators called for security, but they were slow to respond. They took the initiative to shut down the ride and refused to seat the perps. This made our wait longer, and resulted in a lot of name calling between those in-line and the emboldened teens. Finally, when security arrived, they gave up and were escorted off the ride - to loud cheers from the crowd. Definitely the worst case of line jumping I've seen.
If you go to the park with the likes of Loopy, you won't have a problem with line jumpers. In fact, he may need to practice his bow for the applause that ensues.;)
Right Bryan? :)

So I don't cause line jumping. If I am with a larger group (family), and I get to the entrance of a ride, I wait for the whole group to arrive before I enter the line.
With families that can't jump coaster to coaster as quick as I can, I have to wait for as many as 30 to 40 people to pass me into the entrance before I can go in, man family is slow! :)
GATEKEEPER-I came, I rode, I was mildly disappointed; until a second ride (rear left) put GateKeeper back on the...it's a nice ride list.
^^^ That is the only problem going with a big group. Yea it is a lot more fun with a lot of friends and family along but sometimes they just slow you down.
I normally go with my best friend and that is it.

We need to change the title of this to "when is passive-aggressive behavior OK?" because, I swear I've never seen so many instances of that in one place.
Well I've seen people hop the fence after the entrance to a line is closed down. So I've done it once, and gotten in trouble for it.
I would do it again.
I didn't cut in front of anyone.
Line cutting...yeah it can be annoying if the ride is moving especially slow. But even if 3 people cut in front of you in line, you wait like 30 seconds longer. Instead of making a big scene about it, you are better off tripping the person as they try and get past and pretend its an accident.
Any other time I have someone try and pass me again that's what I am going to do.
Excuse SPLAT face on the ground.
"Oh I am sorry, you were trying to cut in line and tripped over one of us in the process".
Than I am going to start yelling "Hey I think we need medical attention, this person cutting in line fell"
Yes..thats what I will do.
I don't believe somebody cutting in front of me for a carnival ride justifies assault.

Cedar Point as far as I know does not consider using vending machines in the Queue's as leaving the queue, so you don't lose your spot. But beyond that the only time it would be acceptable to line jump would be if you asked everyone ahead of you if it was alright first, or if a Ride Host, Supervisor, or CP Police are escorting the guest, then they can pretty much do whatever they want. When we used to be allowed to have 2 rides people at Dragster's entrance, we'd accommodate all kinds of people's requests like emergency restroom requests, but the caveat was you'd then have to wait until a ride host could take you back into your place in the queue, now that they cut entrance to only one person that doesn't happen anymore at all, if you're lucky you might be able to get someone to walk you in while they're rotating, but don't count on it.

Good. Then I'm so cutting in front of you everywhere I see you.
Oh wait, I'm on your side... Crap. Uhh. Yeah. So it went from passive-aggressive, to flat out violent in like, 3 posts.
For you, Josh, I will make an exception . . . ;)
