Whats your plan for your first vsit to the POINT?

I get my license in march so I deffinitly plan on trying to convince my parents to let me go opening day for the day.

If we do go though, the first ride will definitly be Top Thrill Dragster or Millennium Force. :-)

So stoked for 2010 :]

I second the congratulations on the driver's license. I was eighteen, when

i recieved mine. I am now forty five and never had a ticket. That is a

excellent goal to strive for. As for going to cedar point, i am counting

the days to my drive on 250 leading me to sandusky, ohio.

The drive to cp is sweet without the parents. Get a nice mix tape (Cd these days haha)of good songs for the road and blast it all the way there haha.

4 summers of employment in ride operations does stuff to you.

And make sure you watch the roads for cops cause no matter how sweet you think you are at avoiding them you will still get pulled over. Especially when your going 90 in a 55. Even though it is fun to turn a two hour ride into 45 minutes lol.

I can't wait to jam my radio as I head to the point! Its funny how I get a cool feeling in my stamach even in the winter if I am out toward that way! My husband always tells me its because I am a coaster freak. I tell him yes I am and proud of it! Congrats to the new driver! I remember when I first started driving. My first car was a 79 mustang! It was shot. It had no heatt. You would have to scrape the windows on the inside! Also I remember telling my friends to be careful in the back because there was carpet, but no floors under! I have an 82 Mustang that my husband and I restored! It is fun to cruise that. As for my Cedarpoint transportation, I have a fully loaded Edge that is a blast to drive! We have Snoopys' hanging from the rear view mirror! I am a huge Snoopy fan!

Life is like a rollercoaster! It is full of ups and downs

I plan on going almost 60 mph on the bridge so I can "prepare" for the dip on the hill. Lol.

Going opening day, first ride is always Millennium Force just to get the season started with a bang, then hit everthing I can.

I WILL ALWAYS KICK THE SKY.

^^I love that bit of pre-airtime on the causeway. I've never had any problems with speeding on my way to the Point. I'm always excited to get there but make sure to keep the cruise control at a reasonable speed because I can't afford another ticket. If you're coming from the Detroit area on 75 I always keep the cruise set at 120kph (roughly 80mph) and take it down to 110kph (roughly 70mph) once I cross into Ohio. My turnpike speed it always 115kph (around 73mph). I've never even had a cop blink as I've passed.

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

Yeah, Ohio drivers are always SLOW drivers!

Congrats on getting your license! I got mine when I was 18, didn't get a car until I was 21 and it was an 84 manual trans Toyota Corolla, that thing got 250 thousand miles before we had to take it to the junk yard, I miss that car, they don't make them like they used to.

I now have a 2000 Saturn SL1, and it has only 54 thousand on it, I don't drive it often, but it's the car I always take to the point.

My first ride is always Skyhawk, so I'll be hitting that up probably Sunday after opening day. I have no desire to ride Millie or TTD.

Don't be hatin' now. Lol. I am not one of the bad drivers. But hey, Ohioans say that Michigan drivers are bad. I just recently went to the three one three for some fun and I must say Michigan drivers do not know how to drive the correct way. We sped, changed lanes, and literally flew. Lol.

73 in a 65 Vince.. you got more testicular fortitude than me.

I only ever go 55-58 in the 55 section on 2 and then about 67 tops in the freeway section. I don't need an expensive OH Speeding ticket.

HAHA! Thanks for all the congrats. I'm definitly considering to jamming while driving. Since we take highway 2, and its all boondocks out in that area thats all i'm going to do on the way there. haha!

I just hope I dont hit a deer like my mom did on Oct. 25th! haha! (It was a buck for all you hunters out there, it had about 4 or 5 points on it and yes I know we're stupid for not picking it up. haha!)

So stoked for 2010 :]

^make sure you dont turn the music all the wayy up. My best friend did that when she had friends and she just got her license and had a bad car accident and died. Just really be careful and definitely congrats on getting your license.

I'm pretty much in that same speed range on 2. I'm about 70-80mph on I-75, 55-60mph on the 2 lane part of 2 and 65-70mph on the freeway section. The only thing I hate is that my car doesn't have cruise control so sometimes I'll be doing 10-15 over without realizing it. I've yet to see more than a few cops on 2 but I still like to keep my speed in a comfortable, legal range.

Yeah, Michiganders are crazy drivers! But hey, I like it when traffic moves fast, not slow. Once you enter the Ohio border the speed limit goes down to about 65, which is so slow! Slow speed limits=slow drivers=Ohio.

^not until you get to the causeway ;). There are some places where the speed limit is higher.
