What's your favorite 2014 memory @ CP?

Riding Gatekeeper so many times, with no wait, that I thought I was going to throw up.

Mine would be Coaster Mania! Not a cloud in sight on that day! :)

two favorite memories for me this summer.

First: Spent two nights at Lighthouse Pointe this summer. We've stayed at Breakers and Sandcastle in years past but opted for a cottage right on Lake Erie this summer. My wife and kids love it. We'll definitely be staying there in the future. The deck looking over the lake is a great way to end the day.

Second: My 6 year old son was tall enough this summer for the big coasters and tackled everything that his 51 inches would allow. Highlight for us was Millennium Walkback getting 3 rides before the park opened. Will try and make MW an annual event if the park continues to offer it.

One of my favorite memories of 2014 was July 20th, 2014. I met Shawn Meyer and he hung out with my group most of the day. When I first got there, he played Plinko on Maverick and won FOTL passes and we went right in and sat in the front row. At one point he left our group to ride STR (go figure, lol). Then later in the day we rode the Challenge Park go karts and he spun out.

Other runner ups are Labor Day, he talked me into going on STR. It was a hot day so I made an exception and it isn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be.

And other runner up was last Sunday when Shawn kept bumping the walls at the haunts and went the wrong way in Hexed.

I was under the impression that people don't think STR is bad, but rather it's just not that great.

I don't think any ride wants to win Amusement Today's Golden It Isn't As Bad As Everyone Makes It Out To Be award.

^ I like your way of thinking Scotty! Yes it had an accident in 2013. Whatever happened in the off-season, they made some kind of adjustment to it and It's safe now. Aside from that I don't know why everyone thinks it's a bad ride.

My favorite 2014 memory was on July21,,2014 when I was able to make a extra special day with my cousin who was in the last stages of cancer and just lost last month. Every year we had what we called cousins day at Cedar Point. It was the funnest fay of the year and over the years our group got bigger and bigger and it became coaster family day. This year after we found out that he only had a very short time to live I didn't think that there was going to be another coaster family day with him. Then he called me and asked me a very heart felt last wish and that was that we would meet him at Cedar Point one more time. It took a lot of prayers but we were able to make that day a day I wouldnt forget and I also was able thanks to staff at Cedar Point to be be to give my cousin a special gift and that was they helped me to be able to have our whole group ride his favorite coaster Blue Streak where we had the whole train to ourselves and they took a group picture. I miss my cousin so much . He was more like a brother to me but I will not be sad I will hold on to all the fun we had at our most favorite place to be and that was Cedar Point. If you look on my wall on my facebook page there is a copy of that special picture that I will look at and hold on to that day that I helped make a final wish come true.

Life is like a rollercoaster! It is full of ups and downs

Thank you for posting that.

Btw, you win.

^^ Okay, okay. You win. I'm sorry to hear that he lost his battle. :(

Dsloban, I'm so sorry to hear your loss! I'm very happy that you and the Cedar Point staff made his last memory of CP a very exciting one! Words can't express the grief I have for you, but you look at his unfortunate death in a very positive manner! I commend you!

Coastermania, followed by the water main break the following day. Watching people freak out and try to get get off the peninsula while I sat at my camper sipping a beer was some good people-watching.

Not that I like seeing people upset, but getting a front row seat to unfolding human behavior is very interesting to me.

My daughter and I stayed at hotel Breakers on 4th of July weekend. We had fast lane plus passes, which was awesome of course. My favorite moment was going out on the sand with everyone and watching fireworks. We rode Maverick 3 times that day. That was the last time we could enjoy the outdoor pool area in front of the rotunda before they demolished it. I'm still sad about this, but maybe we can make new memories after the remodel.

Definitely Coastermania. I got to meet up in person with rcoaster10, who I had become good friends with. Plus the entire day was just amazing, and I've never been on so many rides in one day thanks to all the ERT. I'll always remember the night ERT on Maverick when we kept going around and around, and the crew was having a blast and make everyone have a good type by singing songs and creating an exciting atmosphere. That day was amazing.

It's funny because I was just about to type out the exact same thing. But instead I'll go with my second favorite memory of 2014, which would be Halloweekends. (Also with Ride On_17!) The rain on Friday night cleared out all the crowds and I got to experience my first ever Halloweekends with barely any crowds. The 5 rides in a row on Millennium to end the night was just icing on the cake.

The excitement on my daughter's face when she got the "official" 48" measurement and red wristband at the front gate upon our first visit of 2014. Then she made it clear that next stop was to be Magnum where she insisted on front car, front seat for her first ever "big" coaster.

The rest of the day was riding all the coasters that were now open to her finishing the day on Millennium Force.

Now she wants on Gatekeeper, Maverick, and TTD.

Awesome

Coastermania for me! Really great day.

Either Coastermania..lots of friends met and memories made...

Or a trip in August filled with live e, shows, relaxation, and just an all around coaster packed trip.

Hard to believe this season is already over...sad...did not get the chance to make it up this past weekend now we have to wait 187 days to do it all over again! Something to look forward to.Wish there was some way to put a dome on CP and keep it open year round....hate the last day of the year, it is so sad....love CP and can't wait till next year!! Nothing to look forward to on Friday nights anymore!!!

Ride on....

Closing day was bitter-sweet, but still an awesome visit! What I look forward to now is planning for 2015 visits! That includes more than the one reservation I've already made. It's also a good time to be clever about saving $ or that. I save change & it adds up quickly. I plan on a special account, just for CP, and my chosen expenses there. It will be kind of like the old Christmas club accounts my parents had, deposits only until a set date for withdrawal.

Keep passing the fun along!

I had quite a few favorite memories this year. In no particular order except for the first two:

The most precious memory is seeing my daughters expression when she was officially measured at 52". Her favorite ride is MAVERICK back right seat. Way to go for a 7 year old!!!

My wife and I spent our 10th Anniversary on Oct. 24th and the entire weekend in Cottage #14 at Lighthouse Point. We were right next to the pier!!!! It was so awesome to hang out at the cottage during the crushing Saturday crowds! We are already reserving for Labor Day next year.

The Media Day event for Pipe Scream and Lake Erie Eagle's was a first for me.

The camp-out was a blast. OD'ed on the SMORE'S. The breakfast was awesome. We set up camp under cover of the cut thru between train station and walkway to Mean Streak. Thanks goodness for the bunk bed cots we used!

Oh I almost forgot the Jet Express ride during CoasterMania. Great job at kicking it up a notch!
