What's in the water?

Maybe this has been discussed before. it's not too exciting so maybe it has not.

I have been going to CP for several years, several times a year. I occassionaly buy bottled water but sometimes sip from a fountain.

I could not believe how "fishy" the water tasted/smelled this year. It was horrific. I can not believe it would pass any tests that would approve people drinking from it by any municpality on earth.

While I can accept this from a fountain (not really) I also stayed at the resorts. I used tap water to make coffee and to brush my teeth. I had to go out and buy bottled water it was so awful.

I am not exagerating in saying it was the worst I have ever tasted.

Is this water coming from below Iron Dragon or is there another reason for this?

I'm going out to get some air.

I have no problem using the water at Hotel Breakers for teeth brushing, but I would never use it to make coffee. I'm not sure if that is the resort you referred to, but there is free coffee on the first floor of the Bon Air section, and it's quite good in my opinion.

The quality of the drinking fountains seems to vary around the park. Some of them are horrid, but I'm a big fan of the drinking fountain in front of the Blue Streak. It's ice cold and tastes fine. Then try ordering a fountain drink at Midway Market, and there's something a little funky about the water in there.

I drink lots of water when I'm at Cedar Point, and I'm still alive, so I guess it's safe, so far...

I stayed at Castaway Bay. I think it was worse than the fountains. I did not notice this in past years and have stayed at the park pretty much every year for the past few.

Seems fine to me, tastes the same as it does here in Toledo. If you want a park with some really nasty water, visit Indiana Beach. Their fountains use straight well water. The stainless steel is all stained a gross green color from the disgusting egg-smelling water that comes out of them.

So, technically, it's not exactly 'stainless' then?

Pretty much what I was thinking.

And to think 25 years ago, we all drank straight from the hose on the side of the house or a sink. EVERYBODY! Who ever created the bottled water industry was a genius. That he/she would know how the public could possibly be conned into paying more for water than pop (and for some soda). Because now everyone is scared of water that doesn't have a seal. Sorry, not a believer. My parents, and their parents seemed to live fine without the bottled variety.

Although green well water is still gross.

Gross, yes. A health risk? Probably not. That goes double for the fountains at CP. What pansies we've become.

In elementary school we discussed that one day astronauts would live for months on a space station. But if someone had told us that someday everyone would pay money for water in little bottles I wouldn't have believed it.
