What WOOD you put in a new cp WOODy?

Shivering Timbers has only been allowed to run after dark once, and that ending helix was plenty insane in the dark, with the coaster hitting fastest lap records every trip out. Imagine that running until midnight at the point and you might be able to empty out Magnum and MF's ending queues.

However, a block brake on the flat stretch would be a crying shame.
Not if it is *only* a block brake (not a trim)...in that case it wood be a *good* thing because it would allow for three-train operation!

Hey, in the proposed boardwalk section, they have all the space in the world. All they have to do is expand the new woodie out into the parking lot. I fthey need more parking, they'll just build a couple parking structures.
-------------
If you do it right, you could squeeze a mouse alongside a beach woodie.

Heck, you could squeeze one *inside* of Mean Streak.
I was just thinking about this woody in the parking lot and how not practical that would be because it's hard enough to find a parking spot on a busy day. Then I remembered a rumor a while ago that Cedar Point was going to put in a coaster in the lot and build a parking garage.

Stick with me for a moment.

I have found that some rumors, (I didn't do any research, just guessing) although mostly false did branch out from a reliable source at one time or another. So although this sounds a bit crazy here it goes.

The infamous CP Cyclone clone going into the parking lot may not be as crazy as we all thought (again bear with me). Looking back in the Cedar Point history books I find that the Cedar Point Cyclone would actually be farther into the parking lot than Disaster Transport (less than half would be on the current site of DT) and the Cyclone was an oval sort of shape (well not really but it had nothing in the middle). There where four parking garages within the Cyclone structure.

Okay this still sounds a bit crazy.

Head over to the Terraserver site (web address anyone). Look over at the Disaster Transport midway. Doesn't the parking lot from Disaster Transport to the main entrance gate look a bit out of place? It would make sense to push the park line up to make a steady line against the lot. I know this sounds crazy, but I could see the Cyclone being built here. Think about it. The park would look better with a straight line dividing the lot and the park. While, in fact you would still be able to park there using the parking garages "hiding" within the Cyclone's structure. If they still lack spaces they always have the Bay side lot (Blue Streak lot) that is almost never used (where you get the season pass' done).

Of course this is all one big guess. It makes sense to me (it's also one in the morning:)). It might not even work out this way as a possibility. As I don't know how many cars need the lot every day and all of that good stuff. I should also say that although I do know people who work in the park and know some very important stuff (my uncle repairs the potholes on Perimeter rode:)) I do not know what the new rides will be. Just like me saying "I found it ironic that none of you mentioned a looping woody," this is just some food for thought.

I say forget the woodie. Lets all say,"STAND UP INVERTED COASTER"!! Its a differ design then what then what anyone will come up with and its new.
Ahhhh yes. Nothing reminds me of an old Jersey board walk like a stand up inverted rollercosater. Harry Traver thought about building one at Cedar Point but the Point wanted a wooden rollercoaster.:)

I thought the stand-up inverter was going to Kennywood... my bad!

No, no, Kennywood's getting the true mine train -- fully underground circuit and all, to honor the coal miners of yesteryear.

This leaves the Intamin Standup Inverted contract open for Cedar Point, don't you know...

Whoa, I like two ideas, that is an oddity. I saw GhostRider and was like *WHAM*, there you go! But, then I go down about 15 posts, and see Magnum is Sinking!'s post, and I think that Magnum's idea is way too spooky and realistic for me. Wow, that makes too much sense to be a rumor. I'm gonna go sit down before that gives me a headache.
Oh yeah, the WOOD on the new Cyclone should be Yellow Southern Pine. That stuff is beautiful!
I would like to see a record breaking wooden twister something that is just insane to build. A Timbers clone would be cool but I don't think that will ever happen.
Clones, clones, clones!! Why would CP "settle" for a clone??? Wouldn't you want ALL original rides at your favorite park?
As long as the new one is a CCI, things will most likely work out quite well.
Yeah, but how many of us have actually ridden the Cyclone. If they where going to, 2001 would be the time to do it as that is there 130th.

Do you mean year? This is the 130th year, 1870-2000.
I would have to say that in a new woodie I would like to see:
- A lift hill
- A first drop
- Trains with wheels
- Blocking breaks
- A station
- A queue

And thanks to the input of CP_Genius in the post below I must add these things to the coaster:
-Wood
-Track
-Bolts
-Concrete Pilings to hold the Wood

Everyone's a comic.

So you don't want to see any wood, supports, or track?
Man that is going to be one ****ed up woody! LOL!;)
Oh my!

Your right. Well, it could work out either way.

FYE: The Cyclone would have been 71 years old today.

The finer points of a new boardwalk woodie should include flags or pennants on a turnaround. Remember the Idora Wildcat's famous fan turn? Nothing says -classic- like pennants, baby! Gotta have 'em! Chaser lights are a must, and so are some kind of candy cane lights, like on Blue Streak's lift hill.

I've seen several black and white photos of the old CP Cyclone...does anyone know whether it was painted or not, and if so, what color was it??
go for the classic look and make sure walkways will go on all sides of the coaster(if an out and back)
