What was the Gemini 100?

"WE RIDE ALL YEAR!"

It an event organize by some members of GTTP as well as a few Cedar Point employees where they power rode Gemini 100 times in one day...

If you've ever ridden a coaster over and over by running around to the gate without letting up, you'll find it very exhausting.

That sounds like my kind of fun! Did they get any rerides or did they have to walk around 100 times?

They had to walk around - try doing a search on it on the forums and you'll learn more - there's also a video of it that you can check out. It was June 11, 2001.

Most of them were "run arounds" actually...someone made a video of it...I'll see if I can find it for you.

24 people started and in the end only 11 "survived". It took from O-C to get it done. Rerides were NOT permitted so each and every 100 laps had to be done getting off, running around, waiting in line with gp again and riding. My daughter teamed up with Nat (Ride of Steel) and even SHE made the 100 laps! (Nat-you look fine in the video!-Its Dan screaming like a girl that scares me! ;)) The crew was awesome for us too! :)It was a blast and one of my most prized memories of the '01 season :)

Here's a thought:
While I wasn't part of the "original" Gemini 100, I think it'd be awesome to organize an annual Gemini 100.

Ehh the origional was a very special day. The idea has come up in the past and I think a good majority of the original members would oppose it.

Now if it is a different ride (not counting DT becsaue that was done already this year as well) I would support it!
