What was new when you first visited CP?

My first time at the park was when Maverick opened in '07. I was typical GP back then, and being from near Chicago, I didn't even know that Maverick existed, although I knew of dragster and millennium force from seeing them on TV.

I remember walking to the back of the park and seeing the 3 hour wait time posted for Maverick. So, my GF & I took stock of it before walking back to mean streak. We both say "eh, don't know why it has that long wait, it doesn't look that impressive". Needless to say, I didn't ride it until returning ~3 years later. That 1st ride was at night, right at closing...boy was my mind blown after that introduction to ejector airtime.

I'll admire that I'm anal 😀

Technically Shoot the Rapids (the original version) opened in 1967. The space has been used for several attractions over the years.

R.I.P. Fright Zone, and Cyrus along with it.

My daughter rode MF when she was 4 1/2 years old. She was exactly 48" tall with thick soled tennis shoes. It is possible for some children to hit 48" early. She is only 5' 10" now as a 22 year old adult.
