What to pack for the dorms :)

Hi guys!, I am new this summer and I just wanted to know what I should pack? Like I have a mini refrigerator do you think I should bring that? Also how do you pick your roommates, or do you just go into a random room and picki t?

Also feel free to add me on facebook! I would be happy to meet my coworkers!

Libby,
I have never worked for Cp but I do have dorm experience because I do live on campus at college. I would say the mini fridge is a MUST!!!! You will also want to bring stuff for recreation (laptop, MP3 player/ipod, personal items, pictures)make sure to bring extension cords as there's usually not many outlets just stuff like that. Another thing is a fan you I have heard most dorms do not have air conditioning and the ones that do it is not too great Remember this is going to be your home for the time you are there. Don't bring too much though because remember you will have a roommate and you should be comfortable sharing your stuff.
I hope this helps
Kelsi

I also go to college, I just heard that Cedar Point Dorms were different from college dorms haha

I would recommend bringing your mini fridge, you never know if you'll want it. I wouldn't recommend bringing a laptop as there isn't any Internet in most of the dorms and there are computers to use. You don't want to worry about someone stealing it. If you live in commons dorms, you won't need a fan and there isn't that much room for one anyway.

You can pick your roommates, or you can go random. I recommend joining this group: http://www.facebook.com/groups/307795175928386/ you can find roommates

Where are you working?

The mini fridge is essential, as are shower sandals. You might want to bring a small bath rug for your room unless you like stepping onto cold tile floor when you wake up in the morning.

this was my exact check list, did me fine all season.

mini fridge

Box fan (depending on where you're living.)

Summer clothes (T-shirts, shorts, swim suit etc)

White T-shirts, black belt, black non-skid shoes (For job)

2 sets of Bedding (Sheets, pillows, etc)

Shower sandals

Toiletries (Shampoo, conditioner, etc)

Towels

Extra shoes

Alarm clock

Mattress pad

power strip

sunglasses

water bottles

can opener

bowls, plates, forks, spoons

don't over pack, it's really more annoying and stressful than being underpacked... rememeber you're there to work, which is what you'll be doing most of the time, so you aren't going to need a ton of stuff.

Yes, I forgot the mattress pad, also essential unless you don't mind feeling sticky. The mattresses are covered in plastic, and with only sheets between you and the mattress, you will stick to it.

Is the internet in the dorm free of use?
I read somewhere that there was internet in all of the housing ...
internet in the apartment and internet in the dorms ..... although that may be not be right.

Dont some of the apartment already have fridges? I also thought that the on-site dorms were only open June-August?

most of the housing claims to have internet but they lie. most people go to mcdonalds which is right across the street and use their wifi.

the apartments have fridges but the dorms do not. im not to sure about the on site dorms being open only those times. the 1500s and 1300s and the 1400s are dorms that are not on site but they have air conditioning which is a major plus.

I have a 600 Watts Microwave. Would that be acceptable?

They don't really check the wattage as you walk in lol
I think mine is an 800 watt and I never got told I couldn't have it.

If you know who you're roommates are going to be, coordinate with them to see who's bring what. It will stink to have three microwaves, but no tv, etc or vice versa. I agree with try to pack on the lighter side. The rooms are small. Mini fridges are very important to have (it's so refreshing to have a can of pop after a long day at work.) There are microwave(s) to use in the 1300 and 1500 Commons buildings.
