What to do when the weather stinks

I'm heading to the Point next week... Weds to Friday. I've been checking the weather religiously, and it looks like storms the ENTIRE time I'm there =/

Weds says 40% chance scattered t-storms, Thurs is 60% chance scattered t-storms, and Fri is 30% isolated t-storms.

So I'm wondering what to do. My two days in the park are supposed to be Thurs and Fri... and I booked my hotel room a couple months ago. I can't exactly switch days because my vacation from work is next week.

I'm really worried. I can't even say how much it would suck if everything is shut down even one of the days I'm there! (Think profanity)

So I'm wondering, if it storms while I'm in the park, what can I do? And does everything REALLY shut down if there is a storm nearby? I expect coasters/tall rides to shut down, but I'm wondering about things like the carousel, bumper cars, spin and pukes...

Since I'm staying at the Breakers I figure if it's real crappy I can hang out in my room, but I'd rather not! Haha. I'll just keep hoping the scattered/isolated storms are brief and stay away from the Point. Storms have been in the forecast in my area for DAYS and they always seem to skip us. Maybe water the plants a little, but that's it.

Thanks!

Edit:
(and yes, I've printed off the weather condition info from the CP site, just wondering if everything really shuts down when there's lightning)

I've seen millennium shut down for a sprinkle this year, and stay down until it stops.

The good news, one, it's still way too early to look at the forecast, I would start taking it seriously about 48 hours out (when the storms are actually developed and on the radar somewhere in the Nebraska/Missouri area). Two, if they are calling for <50% chance of precipitation, that means they are calling for it NOT to rain, by weather standards. Three, rarely does it rain all day, if it were nice out, all day, the wait for millennium may be 2 hours, if it's crappy out for half the day, when it does clear up, the wait may be half as long...essentially a wash.

I'm just checking every day to see what changes. Hopefully in a couple days it says less than 50% chance on all my days there :P Or rain only on the drive up. I wouldn't mind that... haha!

I'm a weather nerd when it comes to Cedar Point too. Typically what I'll do, again, when the storm is actually on the map, is use the "future" feature on weather.com's radar. It will progress what it is 'predicting' the storm/rain to do over the next 5 hours. I'll then print screen (it cycles over and over, so I have to time it exactly at the 5 hour mark), wait 5 hours, and compare what has actually taken place to what it was predicting would take place. This lets me know if the storm/rain has broken up or gotten stronger than originally forecasted.

That only works when you're inside of 48 hours, but it really does work for me.

Haha, I just checked again (I know, I'm obsessive about it...) and it all changed... Weds & Thurs 30% isolated storms and Friday 0% precip and SUNNY. I hope that forecast sticks!

I also watch the maps and try to compare what was predicted with what actually happened. It's kind of fun!

Weather around Lake Erie is nutty. I don't even pay attention to the rain/storms/sun part of the forecast anymore because it's almost never accurate, especially anymore than a day or two out. Temperatures usually seem to be fairly close to what's predicted though.

Yeah I keep forgetting that the Lake weather is insanity. I was there 8 or 9 years ago and there was barely a chance of rain in the morning, but as my sister and I were getting ready to board MF for our last ride of the night a crazy, intense storm blew through. It was pretty scary, we stayed at MF until it blew through, but they never reopened the rides.

I'm checking the weather for Saturday which is when Shoot the Rapids is supposed to open and everybody is calling for a 40% chance of Thunderstorms. Should I be worried about that?

I wouldn't worry. That forecast doesn't mean there will be storms over the park for 40% of the day; it simply predicts that there is a 40% chance a storm will occur, at some point during the day. So the odds of storm occurring are less than half, and even if it does happen, it might only be a blip or two. I certainly wouldn't be deterred in the slightest.
