I am wondering what you guys think about Geauga Lake and its future. They have all the space to make some great rides.
Where did you here that? Also, they could build the hyper at the side of the lake. *** Edited 9/14/2006 10:55:11 PM UTC by Speedfreak 2007***

I'm curious as to how you joined tomorrow, Speedfreak?

Ya, that's obvious and you totally missed what I was saying.
Look at your post above mine and see that it says you joined 9/14/2006 yet it's still 9/13/2006. The only thing I can come up with is that the website uses GMT.

Because that makes a ton of sense. Build a maintenance nightmare $25 million dollar ride that will pay for itself in...... 15 years? 20? Ever?
Maybe they should get some more peeps on the ride side before building any major rides. Otherwise, we may see just Wildwater Kingdom and no Geauga Lake Park.

How about grassy areas where the Villain, Thunderhawk, Dominator, Head Spin and Steel Venom now stand?
Maybe put some of the older rides amidst those grassy areas.
another bad thing is they have a hieght restriction on rides there i think its 180 ft. not for sure about the exact hieght
Doesn't have to be tall to be awesome. Diversifying GL from CP and PKI would be a good idea. Putting in big thrill rides won't accomplish that.

Geauga Lake has too many roller coasters as it is. Too much is already crammed into a small area.
I could deal with a total-park change from blacktop to concrete, though. I think the blacktop looks trashy, and the edges aren't neat and clean like they should be.
I think they need a new ride(not just a coaster) on the ride side. Something that will draw in more peeps to that side of the park.
Maybe a gyro drop tower like at pki, or a dark ride. They have room for a new ride, look at where Mr hydes nasty fall was and also the old water park.
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
My opinion is first, they need to start with better food choices. The best food is located in the waterpark and if I am just on the rides side, I don't want to walk all the way over there for a decent meal. Second, they need to clean up the old waterpark area where they could later install a couple of quality flats. I have the feeling that GL will see an expansion at WWK before the ride side. Finally, if all of those things are done and attendance is up, then would be the time to think about another coaster. Truthfully, they don't have that many quality flat rides. The only ones I like are Time Warp and Texas Twister.
I'll say it again. Geauga Lake needs to think about less coasters, not adding more.
The place is too cluttered with so much crap in such a small area. Another "thrill park" just doesn't belong that close to CP, and it will never make it in that sense. They need to return to the days when families would actually spend time there, companies would have their picnics, and it actually felt like you spent a day doing something fun.
I know the crap-ification has nothing to do with CF and I really believe they're trying to turn it around, but I don't see it happening with the current state of a park that was built up with the purpose of competing with their flagship up the road.
I totally agree with exit on this one! As much as we'd all hate to see any coaster removed, I think that's exactly what needs to happen here. I'd say continue to improve the water park, clean up the rides side by removing a few of the unnecessary coasters (Head Spin, Thunderhawk for starters), and market it as "The Best Waterpark in Ohio" that just happens to have some great ridjavascript:__doPostBack('Pf$_ctl0$SubmitReplyButton','')
