It is almost opening day, and I thought it would be a great time to ask this question again! What is the first thing that you are going to ride on opening day, and are you planning on trying to be on a "first" train of 2012, and if so what is your plan of attack? If you are not attending opening day, then what is the first thing you will ride in the 2012 season? I will be attending opening day and I will attempt to be the "first" train of the year on TTD. Last year that didn't work out so well, but i did end up being the first train of the year on Shoot the Rapids!! My plan of attack this year is to go thru the magnum entrance and make a dead sprint to TTD in hopes that I will be on the first train of 2012! Have a wonderful opening weekend!!
It's not wise to spill ones secrets publicly. Haha, just kidding. I'll be there bright and early with the same goal in mind. I've been on the first Dragster train every year since 2005. So hopefully they don't skimp out on the number of seats they open with (like last year) and ruin it for some of us who are incapable of sprinting. :)

I really lucked out and got 1st row last year. And don't abandon your plans, there's room for at least 6 people to be on the first train. Of course they might let 8, 10 or 12 on for the first train........who knows. And it's obviously a first come deal since it's all about who gets there first. Which means I'm at a big disadvantage with my health. It's really luck of the draw.

Yeah, that sore on your face is looking pretty bad. ;-)

I remember years ago one of the smartest bits of advice I saw on rec.roller-coaster for maximizing your day at Cedar Point was to go and ride Wildcat *first*. Because with its comparatively low capacity (still higher than most of the coasters at Kings Island, for what it's worth) once it got a long line the line would stay long all day.
Personally, I probably won't be at the park on Opening Day. After all, one of the First Rules of Cedar Point is "don't go on Saturday."
When I do finally get to the park, probably on the following day, I'll probably start off by ridi@%
