The US gets Magnum-then Desperado
Japan builds Fujiyama (sp?)
Now the US gets Millennium Force
and Japan turns around and says it is in the process of building something even taller and faster. OK-so here is my simple ??
WHY???
If I could fantasize of having enough $$ to go anywhere in the world I could go to ride coasters the absolute LAST place I would want to go to is Japan. I can count on both hands the # of Japanese people I have seen at CP. Is Japan doing this just to piss us off or is there another reason???
I still think MF is the FIRST and will stay the BEST giga coaster in the world-look at Magnum-need I say more??
Millennium Force laps: 46
and still want more!!!!
:-)

Welcome back Raptor riders-how was your flight??
IMHO, I don't really care about the Japanese building Steel Dragon. Like you said Luv, look at Magnum. To me, maybe CP won't have the record anymore, but they were the first to do it. They are the leaders in the amusement park industry, and everyone else just follows.

Rides to the top of the world: 4
I don't know, I will be there to ride it when it opens. It seems like a neat coaster. The biggest problem I have is if you are under 13 or over 40 you cannot ride it.

Dispatch Master, This is Transport one! I'm losing control, I'm losing control!
Japanese wants the right to say "the worlds tallest roller coaster" just as much as anyone else does. Don't blame the Japanese, blame competitive coaster building.
How do you know there is an age limit on the ride?

I've been to many Amusement Parks around the country, on both coasts and believe me, there are a LOT of Japanese people that go to thrill parks.
It also goes to show they have the money to travel all the way across the Pacific, and across the U.S. to ride a coaster.
Honestly who cares if they have a taller coaster. Will it take anything away from MF...no. Right after you get off MF will you think "Yeah it was a good ride and all, but now that they're building that taller and longer coaster in Japan, it just doesn't seem fun anymore" Always remember records were ment to be broken!

Okay you act like Japan is a huge Amusement park. I am sure the whole Japanesse government is not plotting against an amusement park.

It's like Cp_genius said everyone wants the bragging rights. You can only hols onto it for so long before it will be eclipsed. Stuff happens. I mean how many of us are going to go to Japan when we have MF right next door?!

Actually, the layout is VERY impressive,IMO...8 bunnyhops...WOW, but thats ok, we still have MF!
And next year some other park (Kennywood?) will beat THAT drop. That's just the way the business goes. It's not a "Japanese" thing, it's an amusement park industry thing...

MF count: 4
I mean the vertical height drop.
Who really cares what Japan builds. Some people still think the magnum is the tallest coaster in the world. No matter what we build, someone is gonna build something bigger, if that didnt happen, magnum still would be the tallest.

Cuz I'm a 21st century digital boy...
SUre, Japan could build something 1000 ft. high and get the record. But would it be better than a 160 ft. coaster? 200? 300?

What is the deal with the Japanese? You could just as easily ask "What is the deal with the Americans?" Seriously, that's kinda an offensive way to ask a question.
