what is involved with processing in?

what should i expect when i go to process in?is it an all day thing?also will we end up working that day?
The first part of processing in is to go to Human Resources. After a short, or long, wait in line, ou will recieve a general employee training book which tells you whos who and whats what, the proper forms for wardrobe and housing, as well as your name badge/ID card. They will then tell you where to go next depending on which department you will work at; and they will also give you directions to wardrobe and housing. They will almost always, in my experiance, recommend the on-point housing.
Next stop is your department. At your department, they will show you a traing video, give you training manuals, and show you where you are working, as well as have you fill out a few more forms.
After your department head on over to wardrobe where you will recieve your uniforms, and, if nescessary, buy some other types of clothing, such as socks, hats, belts, shoes, rain gear, and cold weather gear.
Your last stop will be housing. Where you will get a room key, and move in for the duration of your contract.
The only other thing that you will have to do is either get situated in your room, go and do some training, or if the park is open, have some fun.

Couldnt have said it better.
Actually, I ususally went from Human Resources to housing, since I choose to stay on-point (Gold Dorms!) and that way I can get rid of my stuff and not be hauling it around (never took a car with me). But yeah, that's about it! :)

No, usually you won't end up working that day - they can't make you, but they might ask (if the park is really busy or your assignment is understaffed). I wouldn't! You'll be doing enough of it before the end of the summer!

Depending on how long it takes you to get set up in your room, no, it shouldn't take all day. But use some time to find which time clock you're expected to use (some departments require a specific one) or which is the closest to where you'll be going in the park each day, find Cash Control to cash your checks, that sort of thing. And have fun!

Check out the "Process In" employee section!

Kat is right, there really isnt a set "order" to processing in except you have to go to Human Resources first. After that you can do it any order basically. More or less. I did it 4 different ways my four seasons there.

Actually CrystalKat, last year they didn't let you cash your checks at Cash Control. They only cashed them during a certain time above the Main Arcade, in the Coliseum's top floor. I don't know if they will do it again this year or not. But if they do, I think they should let us cash our checks at cash control when we can't during the scheduled time in the Coliseum. And even then only during specific hours so that Cash Control doesn't get too crowded during their usually busy times.

Disco Sucks!
What if I get there at 8:30am, when humen resources opens? Do I have to wait around, or do I get to check into my room?
The earlier you get there, the better, because then you won't be waiting in line so much. As soon as you get your ID you can go check into housing, even if you want to be in your room for an hour or two. But the office will know that you're there (HR will call them), so don't delay too long! But they understand about getting to housing/wardrobe first, no problem.
