what is a food runner?

Im working at TGI fridays in the breakers hotel as a food runner this summer but i was just wondering what the job description was. thanks(:

Usually a food runner is someone who helps the servers during the busiest times. You'll help run the guests orders to their tables in the event the server can't. Sometimes the food runner will refill drinks, get condiments, etc.

so how do tips work? do i split them with the server?

Does it say it's a tipped position on the jobnet?

This will first year at cp but I food run sometimes at the sports bar I work at and the servers just tip me out. Usually like 5 dollars from every server.

So you won't make as much as the server does. Idk if it works the same way at cedar point

yeah they info i was sent in the mail said i make 5.60 plus tips so i was just wondering.

Yeah you'll probably be tipped out. But don't expect much. You get paid more that the servers per hour. So if you get 15 bucks a day you should hit minimum wage.
