What I'd really like to see done with Demon Drop

If I wanted to say I told you so I would have said I told you so. I was just saying I doubt it because that is what I think. I did read every single post in this thread before I posted.

How is saying I doubt it (as in my opinion) stating the obvious?

(hypothetical) If Cedar Point would have put the Mill Race up for sale in '93, and you asked Janice if it didnt sell what would happen to it she would have said the exact same thing that Brian said. That is why in my opinion, weather the DD sells or not, I do not think it will be there next year.

Now, if the demon drop was already being dismantled and I said I doubt it, That would be stating the obvious.

From a business standpoint, I would think that CP would say that if they don't sell it, it will stay up and operating. If they came out and told everyone that they were gonna dismantle it no matter what for 2006, any potential buyers would more than likely wait a year or two for the price to drop. Its like waiting to buy that used car on the side of the road... the longer you wait, the more the price will drop. So, CP is just gonna say that they'll only take it down if it gets sold, when they'll most likely take it down for '06 to make room for... whatever they wanna put there. Maybe a kennel so you can bring your dog to the park. ;)

It won't be a kennel, they already have Pet Check...;)

Wow! I guess not bringing a pet and (apparently) not paying attention to much other than the rides makes you miss some things... A friggin pet check?

I guess that its good if you have no choice but to bring your pet with you, but I would be scared for any animal left there...

(If it isn't obvious, as far as "coping with loss" goes, I've moved on to the "acceptance" stage. I don't like it anymore than the rest of you do, but it's going to happen, sooner or later.)

It is a freaking ride; lets not get too sad over it... you act like a loved one died.

but all this thread is about is "IF they are going to get rid of it, I'd like to see them move it to Geauga Lake and get rid of Mr. Hyde's instead"

But you responded as if I said it was being taken out for sure. Trust me, I know what was said.

well, its an Intamin so the possibility of a loved one dying hasn't been ruled out yet. :-P

:sigh: I really do love Intamin rides though......

Why? It's a nice kennel and the animals are well treated.

I know a marina boater who uses the Pet Check a lot because they often choose not to take their dog if they go out for a day trip on the boat. They are pleased with the care and service at Pet Check.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

If you like this ride so much find out who buys it and go ride it there....

So posters are only allowed to reply to the subject heading and not to the other posts in the thread?

I dont recall saying I doubt they will move it to GL which would be a reply to your post. I did say I doubt that they will keep it regardless of if they sell it or not. Which would make me agreement with the post that was directly before mine.

But you responded as if I said it was being taken out for sure. Trust me, I know what was said

huh? who said I was even talking or replying to what you said?

Personally i would hate to see it go too, it is one of my favorite rides there. I wouldnt mind it replacing Mr. Hydes Crappy Fall one bit....I just doubt they would do that.

^ I just don't see why Demon Drop is so much smoother than all the other 1st Gen freefall's I've ever been on. It's a bit strange, but MHNF is by FAR the worst one I've ever ridden.

I wish there was some sort of a way to revamp these rides into something new and different. They still offer the best freefall experience out of most anything today.

I've always played with ideas, since I was really young, about how to revamp an old free-fall ride into a neat experience but typing it out just takes too much work.

Could have something to do with MHNF being owned by Six Flags for most of its lifetime.

Really? I kinda just figured that it couldn't be that great... just cause most kennels aren't too good, and its not like CP specializes in animal care. But, thats definitely reassuring that it is in fact good.

Yeah, it's also posted on the freaking Internet, a place for geeks to gather and for freaks to trade porn. Let's not get too judgmental about it.

Might I add, it's on a site for enthusiasts, with "enthusiast" being defined as "a person having a strong liking for something." Ok, I'll stop acting like a loved one died. Instead, I'll act like something I have a strong liking for is being taken away.

Feel better now?
