What Happened to Upper Management This Year?

Hello everyone,

Those of you who don't know who I am, think of the guy from Wicked Twister who walked around with an eye patch for two weeks this year.

First off, I'll admit I wasn't the perfect employee this year. But what the heck happened with management policy this year?

I do have a bi-polar disorder, which makes my personallity come off as weird to some people. But I always let my supervisor know that. First Gary when I started work in April, then Oz when I transferred in May. But I really didn't start getting any trouble until my second transfer went through. And in all honesty I didn't think anyone on my crew had any trouble with me. Except the one girl who came forward and said something, after that I was trying my best not to cause any conflict.

Once I knew there was trouble, I kindly asked for a transfer to third shift group utility. Not only cause of the personallity conflict, but because my A.D.D. was going to get someone hurt on our ride. I made Tammy full well aware of the later issue. But the conflict with my crew was more serious than I thought. And I got ganged up on, nuff said. To save Oz some frustration any how.

From that momment on, I was on a tight leash and my transfer request to Group Utility was expidited. Which I was greatful for. Dave complimented me on how fast I was catching on, and I actually enjoyed the job. Nothing like cruising around CP at night on a Cub Cadet, taking care of everyone elses crap.

But the drama from my prior crew was sufficient enough that I had to be fired for clipping a park bench in front of Gold Dorm? Especially with our crew at 1/8th optimum workers.

I appreciate CP giving me the oppertunity to try and return to work, as before this summer I had been off work for almost three years to attend theropy. Also should any of my old crew members I once worked with, I appologize for my actions. But based on what Oz told me, you guys clearly misunderstood me. Which is often the case. Also to note when the lower half of your vision is clouded from a recent injury, you do tend to look on a lower angle to look someone in the eye.

Overall though, what is up this year? I know of minors not being fired for disruptive intoxication, but also I've been hearing some horror stories of people being fired for farting in uniform. CP clearly was having some difficulty getting help this year. Why is management so quick to get rid of people instead of working with them?

Because it's easier than dealing with an employee that has been a problem in the past. You said yourself that you were not a "perfect employee". If you see things that way, imagine how you appeared to others.

Was there any damage to the bench or Cub Cadet? Where I used to work, if a Hi Lo driver ever hit something, they are immediatly drug tested and suspended for 3 days untill the results of the test come back.

It sounds to me like your move to nights was your last chance and you screwed it up by running into something (probably driving way to fast). I dunno, you are pretty vague on just what happened when you "clipped" that bench.

Shadow, I had the EXACT same expeirence this year, except it involved issues at Hotel Breakers. I got transferred from Bell Staff to Night Housekeeping, and then fired of a BS reason. (see post in Employee Louge section). I too have ADHD, so I can sympathize with you.

As per the diciplinary note. There was some transfer of paint between the park bench and dumpster.

I had my eyes fixed on the shack in front of Gold Dorms as I had just seen two guys walking around there. Wasn't speeding at all. Infact the officer from Security who got called by my TL, was in shock that they even made him take a report. And Mr. Ruff wasn't all that pleased when Wozniak and them made him fire me.

I'm sorry to hear that. But I doubt the whole story has been told here by you. You have said that you have had issues in the past and I'm sure that was brought into account with your dismissal.

"Transfer of paint" must have been the finial straw. Learn from your mistakes (or the perception that you made mistakes) and move on. Maybe you won't have issues like this bite you in the butt again. If you do, look in the mirrior and you'll find the cause of your employment issues.
