I used to really enjoy their food and the chance to get out of the heat on a July day.
That is pretty sad...kids to the best of my knowledge are allowed to eat anywhere adults eat.Oh well,I guess I'll have to go somewhere else for my pizza.
Head to Breakers and go to Tomo if you want a more "grown up" place to eat. Sure, there's still kids there, but it's a hibachi, and some of the menu items are more geared toward the grown up palette.
As for Joe Cool Cafe, I think it's cute. I mean, I like dogs, especially Snoopy so, I guess that's why.

The new restaurant is called Joe Cool Cafe. They still offer the same pizza and salads as Macaroni's did before, they just added a new theme and a few new items, such as burgers, chicken fingers and pasta. They also have really good milkshakes!
The only thing really different now is the restaurant now has a Snoopy theme with different paint and wallpaper.
Give it a try this summer and let us know what you think. If you liked Macaroni's before, I don't think you'll be disappointed.
We ate at Joe Cool's Cafe last year. Kids enjoyed it and the parents didn't seem to have any complaints about the food. Grandma and Grandpa were with us and they seemed ok with it too. I thought the kid's meal was a good value and the drink container could be refilled in the park for a lesser price throughout the day.
Over all I thought it was fine. It was very crowded too. I think we waited about 20 to 30 minutes and I don't believe we went during the "rush" of 11:30-12:30. Only thing missing was a visit by Snoopy or one of the Peanuts characters.

I've eaten at Macaroni's every year for the last 7-8 years. I can say that 2 years ago when I ate there the place was in pretty high need of a renovation. It makes sense that while revamping the Peanuts Playground they would tie in the restaurant as well. I agree that the food really hasn't changed all that much. They still serve the same great pizza since it is a good item to offer families with kids.

Is the Pizza at Joe Cool the same as they serve at the Chuck Wagon?
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
Amusingly enough, I have no idea. I quit going to Chuck Wagon after they switched it to pizza in 2007. I loved the rotisserie chicken they used to serve and was not happy that they changed it to pizza, although I think it's because the Frontier Inn became Chick-Fil-A and didn't want to go without a pizza place in the back of the park.
So much for healthier food options. I guess I can always spend $12 on a footlong at Subway though, right?

^^ :-) good one lladnar. If my memory serves me correctly before Subway came out with the 5 dollar foot long deal a foot long was 9 or ten bucks so really your only paying 2 to 3 dollars extra for the convenience of sub way being in the park. So that is really not to bad. But is still quite expensive if you can grab one on the way there or leave.

I haven't been up to the park since my last season working, since that was my resturant I have to say this makes me pretty sad. Though having worked there before and after Famous Dave's came in there was a pretty sharp decline in traffic and thus moral among the servers. So maybe it's for the best.

Foot long subs were never 9 or 10 bucks. I'm pretty sure the Italian BMT was something like 6.89 before the 5 dollar foot long sale. So Subway at Cedar Point is nearly double what the original price was.
It would be interesting to compare the in-park markup of Subway, Chick-fil-A, Panda Express, Famous Dave's, TGI Friday's, and Johnny Rockets versus their "real world" counterparts. I'm sure Subway would win highest, but I wonder how the rest stack up.
The last time I hit Friday's (in 2007), I seem to remember markups of around $1-2 per entree, which would be about 20-25% or so. I could handle that markup at Subway ($6.25 footlongs).

From my memory, here are the approximate markups (note: these are from memory so they could be off):
Subway (14.00 Footlong as compared to 5.00) and Chick-Fil-A (9.00 for a sandwich combo as compared to 6.00 off-point) seem to have the highest markup. Both Famous Dave's and Fridays add around 1-2 dollars per entree compared to the standalone restaurants. Panda Express suprisingly is also only a 2-3 dollar markup from what you would pay in the food court of your local mall. I can't speak for Johnny Rockets as I never eat there.
