What Don't/Won't You Ride?

cant ride the giant wheel anymore, and this is from the atl from 86, lol, saw it out of balance that year a few times and it was like a giant witches wheel, but without going upside down

Out of balance? How did that affect it?

It just goes to show that fear is seldom rational.A good reason to be understanding of peoples fears.Just because something is benign to you doesnt mean that its benign to another. It may be terrifying. One interesting phobia is my daughters reluctance to sit in a left seat on the Magnum, because when you look down theres only the ground.Sounds silly, but thats how phobias are.

I won't go on anything that spins. Theyget me sick and it ruins my day. I will ride any coaster though.

What do you mean out of balance? I'vce been outof balance on a ride before on frissbee at SFFT. Wow that was scary. Slow rotation then all of a sudden realy realy fast! I don;t ride ferris wheels. Way way too tall and too afraid of falling out.

I would never laugh or belittle anyones fear, but the only way you would fall out of the "wheel"is if you jumped. Its got a beautiful view of the park.

I have never heard of a Ferris wheel death.

How many times have you seen a ferris fall over in a movie or tv show? I have heard many horror stories about ferris wheel's in county fairs.

The turbo drop side of the power tower is the only ride that still geuinlly scares me, that doesnt stop me from riding it though..its a good thing.

I hate riding Corkscrew because of the way the cars are set up and how hard it is for me to get in. Im 5 foot 11 and when I try to get in the cars its not fun. But I ride it every everyother time I go to the park.

I know what you mean, I am 6'2" but if you sit in the front of a car on Corkscrew it actually has a good amount of leg room, more so than wildcat

I wont ride ride the Space Spiral. Its just that the ride looks so fragile and being 330ft in the air on something that looks like it can barely support itself is not my idea of fun!

I believe the cabin on Space Spiral only climbs approximately 285 feet.

I won't be riding the Mine Ride anymore, unless the restraints get updated sometime soon. They tighten the lapbar down way too far.

The only other thing I won't ride is Troika. I rode it last year and the restraints just did not feel safe at all so I won't be ever doing that one again.

Although it is often convenient, the Sky Ride freaks me out.
I will have a cow if anyone starts moving around or rocking the car. It is just not right.

Concerning weird things to do on rides, look behind you when you go down the hill on Millenium or Magnum. lol

Magnum still rocks.

I have yet to ride Demon Drop. I might if they announce its removal. I like the 2nd gen freefalls though.

If you're scared of it now(which I'm not saying you are), you should hear what happened to it on it's anniversery. I can't remember when exactly but it was celebrating its something year of opperating without problems when something happened to a ball berring causing it to be stuck up top for a while.

Maybe somebody knows the story better than I do. :)

Why would they remove that ride? That ride still gets good lines during July summer months.

I am 6'7", so the front seat of the front car of Corkscrew is my only option. I have to slide very far forward to get my head down enough to push it against the headrest. The result is that when the train goes through the loops, my butt & legs rise off the seat and float. It's a very cool sensation, kind of like levitation.

Someone mentioned elsewhere that Magnum gives them headaches. I used to have a real problem with headaches and "coaster neck", until I realized that I was tensing my enire body without realizing it. Now, I do the exact opposite. As soon as the train tops the lift hill, I relax my entire body as much as possible. (It's much easier now that I am not clenching the grab bars with a death grip.) When your body relaxes, you just sort of "flow" with the movement of the train. Much easier on the body.

I won't ride MaXair. I used to be able to handle spinning rides in stride, but not anymore.

I am more afraid to ride the skyline or giant wheel or power tower (drop side) than MF, TTD, or any of the coasters. It sorta seems strange to me, but who knows. I do know that I don't like the hanging feeling of the giant wheel or skyline.

i won't ride corkscrew or demon drop because the restraints cause pain in my upper body. mantis has such tight turns which also cause me pain. the green side on power tower is a no no. i did it once and i screamed like a little girl. i'd rather spend a night at neverland ranch than get on that power tower.

i live at the saint pia zadora golden buckeye retirement community

I am deathly afraid to ride the drop side of Power Tower and I don't know why. I think it is because i don't feel comfortable being dropped like that and not knowing if the breaks will stop you. I did try it once though last year at Halloweekends and it is probally the only ride I screamed on the entire weekend. The other one I am afraid of but will more willingly ride is Demon Drop once again that awful dropping sensation.
